Ezra exposure must be a writeoff. I hope they dont give more money to them to add to their losses. More provisions might be required than allocated. |

I think market will buy in ...esp w a 30c dividend as of now. Retail loves our banks. Should see up wards movement esp with the Strong US market. Happy investing.

Note the large PROVISION taken.....also for OCBC 300M taken. So in actual fact our Banks are doing well in 2016 not forgeting a very tough econ condition. Of course nett profit will be lower w this large provision ( IT MAY not be use eventually or partially use ) So can u imagine the figure if this provision are not taken. Expectations are too high maybe.

Yes ! Market expects bad result..so the actual should exceed better than expected. Increase provision bad debts by $220M, else it would hv been better.

SINGAPORE - Singapore's biggest bank DBS Group Holdings reported a worse than expected fall in net profit for its fourth quarter, its lowest quarterly profit in two years, as provisions for soured loans almost doubled.
Net profit dropped 9 per cent to S$913 million for the three months ended Dec 31, 2016, compared to S$1.0 billion a year earlier, even as revenue gained 5 per cent to S$2.78 billion. DBS was expected to show a 6.6 per cent profit decline to S$936 million, according to analysts polled by Reuters, or S$1.014 billion according to those polled by Bloomberg.

Swiber + Ezra bad debt almost $1billion liao， $350mil+$637mil=$987mil.
It just whether will reflect on tomolo or next quater financial result. Market maker will discount $1b on its full year profit. $18 is too high if u know how to calculate its value.
