x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Best to settle out of court Shenzhun01      ( Date: 31-Oct-2024 11:57) Posted: Optus Mobile Pty Limited (Optus Mobile) was informed on 31 October 2024 that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has filed proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia against Optus Mobile alleging that Optus Mobile acted unconscionably in its dealings with about 429 consumers. Optus is reviewing and considering the matters raised in the proceedings and will respond to the claims made by the ACCC in due course. At this stage, Optus Mobile is not able to determine the quantum of penalties, if any, that could arise. Any question regarding penalties is ultimately a matter for the Federal Court to determine. If a contravention is found, the Court will consider a number of factors and apply a penalty amount it determines overall as appropriate based on the events that occurred. The risks going abroad are there. But there is no alternative to grow but to go abroad. And the key stress on partnerships is there to ensure that we grow together with whoever we are working with. We are not stealing from these countries, we help them to grow as well. The vision of a common partnership is compelling and ensures we will grow together as one world family. Helping developing markets with our investments will see many lives improved. And this is one thing that affluent Singapore can afford to do and the rewards that we reap far outweighs the costs.

Most if not all countries will look after its own home grown companies. In these foreign countries, the legal frameworks and the business environments are difficult to navigate. Furthermore, havely reliance and dependence ould have to be placed on local employees. Our business is more in other countries outside Singapore. Singtel is becoming more of a digitalisation company, not just telco. Reducing costs is paramount in doing this business to fight in this line. Key risk: Data centres / 5G capex / development of new SG centre are capital intensive but we can use capital partnerships to raise in order to reduce pressure on operating cash flows. e.g. partnering Lendlease and giving them 49% ownership. Investing risks as we seek to expand. Need to find the right partners with right values system and mindsets. I think the partnerships are the most important part of Singtel' s digital business. It is all about Growing together. Digital banking arm expected to be profitable in 2026.

With efficient capital recycling up to 5 years to make up the value realisation dividend and with an attempt to grow the underlying business and grow core dividend, Singtel is poised to return a decent shareholder return.
