A lot of parents (from Japan to Korea to Taiwan) told me " it is for the kids" .  Taiwan by the way, have very little Theme Parks (the one in Kaohsiung by steel tycoon is just so so) A for China, the situation will be : 1. It is all human nature wanting to try out new thing say Shanghai Disneyland 2.
