Not yet ....long way to go I hv been saying our banks are way below book value ....... 1. Wait for them to climb back to book and EXCEED .....good times they can trade at 1.3X 2. Funds flow are coming in last few weeks . 3. Global recovery are expecting the available of vaccine/SSS not one but several candidates now ...by early net yr 4. More trade deal signed ...w Biden the TPP look very good potential The list goes on and on ,, patiently awaiting Dyodd

SINGAPORE, INDIA, 17 November 2020 - The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a draft scheme to amalgamate Lakshmi Vilas Bank with DBS Bank India Ltd (DBIL). The proposed scheme of amalgamation is under the special powers of the Government of India and RBI under Section 45 of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949. Lakshmi Vilas Bank has a 94-year history in India, with an established retail and SME customer base, and a strong presence in South India. DBS has been in India since 1994. In March 2019, to expand the franchise and build greater scale, DBS converted its India operations to a wholly owned subsidiary, DBIL. DBIL is now present in 24 cities across 13 states. GOOD news for DBS .....this will GROW its market reach into India.......no wonder it price rise today UOB has a lot of catching up OCBC look very good for the magic $10 .....and CEO seem to be accumulating CASH ....for ? ( a takeover or what / speculate ) DYODD Happy investing. |

At current price ..UOB 21.70, and OCBC 9.70 ....both are trading at 0.9X book value.....while DBS has ZOOM back to 1.15X There are some positive factors for our banks come end of Q4///// 1. OCBC n UOB will be definately giving out dividend ....and surprise side is wld it be higher ? ( Mas has not cap 2021 dividend yet ) Also , all 3 banks can afford to pay higher dividends as their payout ration are aro 50% or so 2. Better trade and economy are expected for current qtr. 3. LARGE provision are taken by ALL 3 banks....with all 3 reporting no major bad loan expected ( let us hope so ) ....then in 2021 these povisions would be ?? So would we be seeing our banks trading at 1.1/1,2 X their book ? maybe not in 2020 ...but come 2021 Dyodd Happy invesitng. |

OCBC & UOB both trading below book value, I see value in them too. Am still holding DBS but sold some when CD. Want to buy back DBS , but at lower price. Cheers!

This is a tough question , .. Assuming all things go well ...Biden take over, Vaccine avail by next year . Ph3 go well n infection rate controlled .....not a straight line of course I wld honestly see the econ recovery into 2021/22. Currently UOB n OCBC do hv better value for P/BV esp for OCBC . DBS to go back to 27/28 is possible in longer term . But above 23 now I am afraid to add ...lol Its trading at 1.16X now . Just my view

Certainly Singapore justify having FT like Mr Gupta . Our small little red dot really cant produce enough talent w great global outlook and knowledge. Dbs w him leading is on growth for more yrs to come. Dyodd Gupta bested other CEOs in volume of media mentions due to his frequent communications on DBS' effort to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as publicly speaking out on issues surrounding his citizenship during his appointment as CEO. Meanwhile, Wilmar International CEO Kuok Khoon Hong was named as CEO with the " most favourable" mentions, following the company' s $7m donation and positive performance this year. Singapore Airlines CEO Goh Choon Phong was also commended for being the first to address the issues surrounding the company' s staff layoffs and pay cuts. After yesterday super charge of our 3 banks ,,,,,,the profit taking seem to be well absorpted ..... DBS wld be trading XD tmr ....shld test the 24 support ? Banks have had a better 3QFY2020 compared to their 2QFY2020. The biggest surprise was Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp&rsquo s (OCBC) net profit which rose 41% q-o-q to $1.03 billion. This came on the back of a tailwind from non-interest income, including that from Great Eastern Holdings, and lower general provisions compared to 2Q2020. Our banks are some of the most conservative and prudent ....high provision are done in past qtrs. ( say OCBC if not wrong ...Q1 650m, Q2 750m , Q3 350m .....) wow ...which other bank in this region can afford this provision . Come 2021/22 ....if ALL these provision are not use ...LOL DBS is back running way ahead .....w OCBC and UOB STILL TRADING BELOW ITS BOOK ( hmm ) W vaccine n Biden admin incharge ....global trade is expected to return . Spore government has position us WELL for a recovery ...... growth will return ( just a matter of how fast n how much ) Happy investing vested |

Whatever he do to HK actually is positive for Singapore LOL ( recent ANT fight w CCP is also good for us as potential IPO site ) As for Trump ...globally not many countries recognise him as President now / LOL France n Germany alrdy sideline him ( only russia , N Korea n China awaiting ..haha ...does that matter ?) ONLY worry is riot for his die hard supporter ( OWN american people ) which Biden is trying to unite .....as long as this DONT snowball into big issue...
