x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	So far my search of so called new technology,  biomass estimation,  said   to be not available in 1998 was  to control the overfishing so that fish population can recovery quickly after the El-Nino.      The catch of the fishermen will be affected,  not  because there are mini bans most feared about but rather there was not much fishes around to be caught because of the higher sea temperatures.    We should see the full effect of El-Nino in 35 months.. June is just the  beginning..

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	This technology that so called new is just a method came up by Smith in 1972.  it is called Biomass estimation.  It is more to control the overfishing and was applied in the US in 1980,  about 18 years before 1998 El-Nino. http://www.fao.org/docrep/005/ac750e/AC750E19.htm Will leave it you to find out when this biomass estimation,  so called new technology was applied in Peru and Chile. This 2014 El-Nino is only the beginning.. In April 2014,  no one was sure.  Today in June,  it is only still 70% sure but the  sea temperature has gone to as high as 2010.  So far only Let see how  this El-Nino will develop as it still has 35 months to go before we see the peak temperature.
