Straits Times Index (STI) ended -56.98 points lower or -1.87% to 2990.95, taking the year-to-date performance to -5.50%.
Note - STI Index is mean only for blue chip big cap 30 stocks. teeth53 thot - On sharing my forecast on STI index for tomorro trading n promoting stk /shr tading interest in SJ. It's of two different analysis scenario been played all the time, where different players were keen on playing. " if Euro n Dow pre-mkt is solid," (which is not) so Penny's will hold it own, Mid n big cap n the like of STI 30 stk - look reddish. |

Different folks will have different views since they have different strategies, risk profile and timeframes when trading. As traders, we should not try to prove who is right or wrong in method or analysis because there is only one who will be right which is the MARKET itself. What's more important is you as a trader need to find that one strategy that suits you because there are many ways to earn in the market. Also remember there is no perfect strategy. Volume is one of the indicators trader may use. If you noticed todays volume for STI in daily charts, it is not that huge compared to august 8, 2013 when STI was around the same price level. In terms of supply and demand, this means less supply compared to aug 8, 2013 which may push price up. this is definitely a sign of caution for those who shorted and probably wise to put some stops or take some profits off the table. For me it is still risky to long yet since the confirmation I am waiting for is not there yet. An early confirmation could be price action, a daily close above todays candle on high volume could be bullish sign with a stop loss around 2950. Trend wise, since may 2013 top, sti has shown signs of downtrend which is not good. On the other hand, this trend can be reversed if price can go above the higher high..probably around 3300. Bro, Show us that you are worthy of that nick you are using :) stock market mind ? Can't just simply " STI will probably have a rebound tomorrow." Give reason, facts or quote to support your statement leh. One liner statement is more like a " gut feel" with no real ongoing event that can encourage " buying.......at asking" Its that, willingness for incoming investor to buy at seller's asking price that will move stock's price forward...........(backward also true in dumping case) With no true indicator's , even if its green on start, it will likely to fade off after 30 to 45 mins after opening..........of market..............

I think the movement of STI tomorrow is an accumulative action from all traders out there.......... Whether it would be a bearish day or bullish...........would very much depends on US's market sentiments..........their reaction towards EURO and ASIAN's market anticipations....... SO DOW's performance tonight would likely be a simple gauge on what would likely be for STI and infact Asian market in general beginning with Nikkei...........HSI......Asean market reaction........ Even if there are rebound, it would be limited and temporary............. But DOW's end trade day result or the characteristic from opening to mid-day to closing would likely and at the very least shows how opening time trading pattern would go the monet market open at 9 am tomorrow. If its good, I think some would take the opportunity to sell off at higher....... BUT its never possible to know exactly how market would play out... NO one can. :) BUT DOW'S action tonight would provide some hints and in-fact will affect trader's action tomorrow...........

Can someone help/share/ explain the current market situation, follow up anticipation and advises in general ? It was looking bright than like a month back, but now STI and Asian market are on a stretch of fall for weeks.........when will the situation improves ............ when will we see more positive light again............ Is current situation stabilizing ? When Euro zone had had their debt issues, Euro zone Ministers were having meeting after meetings to find ways to stabilize the situations then... are Asian Mibnsiter having such emergency meeting to find solutions ? BUT current situation of " Emerging market" couple with US's cash pumping gradual withdrawal...Asia getting double hit while Euro side keep having positive news.....and they seems to says Emerging market's current problem will not effect their progresses.............. why is it so and is it rally true ? Hopefully some one out there can share their view or better still share their personal opinion on current situations........................seems not much clue.....the road ahead seems bleak......with no leading indicators nor factors to look forward to to have an idea of what is going to happen next............ Many Thanks. |

Fed to stick with stimulus reduction despite sell-off
Money being pumped into recovery will be cut from Jan's US$75b to US$65b in Feb
THE Federal Reserve on Wednesday said it will continue to scale back its support for the nation's economy despite recent turmoil in global markets that has reverberated across US indexes. The central bank will reduce the amount of money it is pumping into the recovery from US$75 billion this month to US$65 billion in February. The move is a sign that the Fed remains confident that the economy is healing. It said that growth has " picked up" in an official statement announcing its unanimous decision. " The Committee continues to see the improvement in economic activity and labour market conditions . . . as consistent with growing underlying strength in the broader economy," the statement said |

This tapering is good for a minor correction so that after this decline, then there will be more steam to push up the market again. Why I say that? Because the Fed are only slowly reducing the hot $$$, and not immediately totally taken off the table. Therefore, there will still be hot $$$ pumping in. So clever ppl just need to be patient and wait for the next run, till then before the hot $$$ really runs out by end of this year |

Different $tk has different winning $treak, and absolutely in total different timing - win or lose. Each and every stks will have it own chance to be value played by mkt players. It best left to mkt behavior n how players 1 it to be!!!. -- We can't pre-determine result in the price we want, just speculating. Players with deepest pocket are the one, even thou there is no guaruntee winning for them, rich been coming richer and retailers winning chance is left to seen. ONLY kopi money.
