on a more cautions, sombre note, hyflux olivia lum also gave shareholders dividend in specie before announcing voluntary restructuring which lead to selling the water/power plant to PUB for $1.

the business like printing money machine, based on the current growth rate likely to be 70-80 cts full year earning per share in 2021 , share price can be easily shot up to 4-5 dollars but sure of shortist start to say is something fake. | ||||

Why sg investors here so desperate for dividends?
Extract from fs: No dividends have been declared/recommended by the Board for the financial period ended 31 December 2020 as the Board has opted to conserve cash in the face of the Group?s current circumstances and uncertain business climate, taking into consideration short and medium commitments. The Board will review the Group?s dividend policy at a more appropriate juncture. |

Best World Q4 net profit more than doubles to S$62.3m
BEST World' s net profit for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2020 more than doubled to S$62.3 million from S$27.7 million a year ago.
Revenue was up 70.1 per cent to S$201.2 million from S$118.3 million in Q4 2019, which the skincare-products firm attributed to growth in both its direct-selling and franchise segments.
Growth was slower in China because of Covid-19 disruptions, but this was offset by a revenue surge in key direct-selling markets such as Singapore and Malaysia, as people turned to online shopping amid the pandemic.
Earnings per share stood at 11.45 cents, up from 5.09 cents in Q4 2019.
Full-year net profit was S$132.6 million, rising 47.9 per cent from S$89.6 million. Revenue rose 42 per cent to S$545.6 million, also on the back of growth in the direct-selling and franchise segments.
Earnings per share was 24.3 cents, up from 16.42 cents in FY2019. No dividend was declared.
Trading in Best World shares has been suspended since May 2019.

If that's the case I guess shareholders will become edgy. Worst than in the bank for me.
Suspend with dividend still able take it as passive income but no dividend is totally another story. Any happy ending for this story, the guess is as good as everyone else

Looking at the current and next few year covid situation, Is more likely for pharmaceutical company will give dividends, the rest will choose to conserve cash |

if they want to conserve cash can always give a token amt of dividends esp since they had been giving dividend regularly since suspension. totally dont give will invoke the spectre of those s-chips, billions of profits but forever no dividends.
