agreed. I recalled several years ago the local telecos were poking funs at each other that one coverage is better than the other with the Red, Green and Orange umbrellas advertisements. I suppose by now all 3 telcos have cornered all the available buildings roof top to anchor their wireless signal boosters/ repeaters. Especially in CBDs and town area, where the building density, and tall buildings affects the mobile/wireless signal coverage, the booster/repeaters plays a key role to ensure reliable coverage. This morning I spoke with the contractor who is installing the TPG mobile/wireless signal boosters/repeaters on the roof top of HDB Block next to mine. Mine block already have the Singtel attennas and well position to cover the estate and roads outside the estate. Surely TPG will not get good ' roof top' for their signal coverage, so, TPG... The Pain Grows, when they start their services later this year

A new telco will no doubt experience lots of teething problems during the 1st 6 months of operation. This raises issues of connection reliability. Whilst a coffeeshop uncle or aunty may not mind switching telco just to save a few dollars every month and put up with  reliability issues which are not critical to them given the nature of their use of mobile services, reliability is very important and critical to businesses and retail consumers who use mobile services for business or for trading the market. So I dont envisage any mass exodus of mobile services users switching to TPG just to save even $10 per month. When you use mobile services for business or for trading, what is $10 savings per month?  |

Tha Ma Der.    ![]() Meaning somebody' s mother. The moron who sold by throwing down to the buyers. You see, if not for all these morons who have been divesting their big holdings over the last 4 weeks put together, SingTel...without all the negativity from selldowns in big lots, would have seen a steady stream of buying and with that, she would be trading at the 3.80s to 3.90s now. If not for those TMD morons. Get it now? Bro Shampain says Tha Ma Der. I will say NABEH the Koo Niang.    ![]()

TPG David teoh has counted his chickens before he bought the spectrum here to set up shop. Back in Australia TPG is a 2bil company. If they give you better consumer mobile packages wouldn't you be interested?

But the issue for the industry wld be they are there to disrupt n cause a general squeeze in margins while they are around.  Still, I believe the impact on Stel wld be limited cos of its more global n diverse footprints.  Taking a step or two back, the telco industry here has gradually opened up since Stel' s listing in Nov 93.  But Stel has grown only stronger.  So, for me, any selling are gratefully grabbed with both hands.

In my opinion, the price now for it is cheap. Can buy to hold. As for whether how much it will rise will depends on those monkeys

No worries, all telco counters are currently at a big discount.  This year is a bullish one and Singtel will be $4.20++ even with the entrance of TPG.  TPG will not be able to generate any cash flow for the entire 2018.

Yesterday, there was a selldown by just 1 idiot moron fund late into the session. His untimely and indiscriminate selling saw buyers at 3.61 and 3.60 cleared and the price slipping to 3.59 : 3.60. Most utterly frustrating.  Idiot moron fund early dont sell late dont sell. Phin Phin now then come and sell when SingTel is trying to climb back up. Really damn pissed when big sellers choose the wrong time to sell and delay a stock' s attempt to recover. When one big buyer buys, the price will rise. If nothing happens after that, another big buyer who has been planning to buy will also come in to buy. And lift the price by another few bids. Then a 3rd. Then a 4th. And soon. And put all that together, you get a rally. And when you look back, the stock has risen 10 cts to 15 cts !!! But the moment one idiot big seller dont give the stock a chance to recover by coming in at the early stage of the rebound to throw down his scrips and wipe out all the buyers in the queue, this type of price action will produce a very negative spillover effect and quash whatever bullishness there is on the ground. And whoever else were planning to buy big will hold back their horses and stand aside first just in case still have other big sellers who may come in next to dump their scrips. If you want to buy and you see others dumping, you will wait. That' s the most natural thing to do. And what is worrisome is that when one big seller throws his scrips, it may shake the ground and cause weak hands to come out and throw too. And if the timing is bad in the sense that there are many weak hands at the sidelines  wondering whether to sell or to LOON on, when they see a big player throws down in big lots, they may follow suit and throw back their scrips too and this may trigger a " You Jump I Jump" chain reaction.  So what next? It all depends on whether any more moron funds come out to sell.  If the selling stops, the buying can begin. When the buying gets under way, it will start to create a bullish environment for retail bulls to follow suit. And so long as no more idiot moron funds come out to splash us with a bucket of iced-cold water, the bullishness which has been created will start to build up and act like a magnet to draw more bulls out from the sidelines to buy. And if another fund comes out to buy to push the price up by 1 or 2 cts which in turn lure other funds to also come out to buy and they in turn push the price up by another 1 or 2 cts and this series of big buying by multiple funds continue, we will then get a nice recovery where every pullback is a BUY. Until then, we all still have to languish whilst we sulk.      |

This is not science and I cant back it up with theory, facts or evidence. This is about my own trading experience and my own observation. When the price of a stock rises but we dont sell becoz the general consensus and perception is that the stock will go higher and to sell now would be to sell too early, and then the stock fails to go higher as widely anticipated, and instead go into a pullback, the next time the stock rise to that same level again and then stalls there, many people who remember the earlier lesson, will sell. And right after these people have sold, the stock blast off !!! Sounds familiar?    ![]()
