Venture Corporation (HOLD, tp:SGD16.88) - Opportunity knocks for long-term investors - 3Q19 core net profit of S$85.2m was 5.4% above our S$80.8m forecast. 9M19 core net profit formed 76% of our full-year estimate. There are still headwinds and uncertainties over the next twelve months, but opportunities in supply chain shifts and new product launches are also intact. Downgrade to Hold from Add. TP rises to S$16.88 as we roll over to FY21.

CIMB downgraded to Hold but increased TP to $16.88 after rolling over to FY21 earnings of 12.5x PE 3Q19 results largely in line 3Q19 sales rose 12.8% yoy while reported net profit (RNP) grew 5.5% yoy. 9M19 RNP was 76% of our/consensus estimates, higher than the historical trend over the past six years. 3Q19 RNP was 5.4% above our core net profit forecast of S$80.8m. If we adjust for S$3.2m in foreign exchange gain and a S$1.2m write-back of over provision of tax, Venture&rsquo s RNP would be in line with our expectations. 3Q19 results takeaways 1) Margin pressure &ndash this can be seen in the gross material margins (Figure 10) as well as the pre-tax level (Figure 8). Margins have been affected by competition and pricing pressure and could have been worst if not for Venture&rsquo s culture of driving productivity and operational efficiencies. 2) Balance sheet remains strong with free cashflow of S$96.5m generated for the quarter. Shareholders may raise the possibility of a higher dividend given the cash balance of S$804m and strong free cashflow generation. We expect earnings weakness in 4Q19 We maintain our view that 2H will be weaker than 1H. Our 4Q19 core net profit estimate of S$85.5m implies qoq growth of 0.4% and yoy decline of 21%. We believe consensus earnings for FY19 will need to be reduced to reflect 2H weakness. FY20 could still be a challenge Venture sees uncertainties in the business and geopolitical environment unabating over the next twelve months. There are still opportunities given a) hastened efforts by companies to relocate supply chains for tariff mitigation and b) new and key product launches by several partners over the next twelve months. The longer-term outlook is less concerning as Venture remains focused on its strategy of value creation, which justifies its higher-than-peers&rsquo margins. We remain cautious in our FY20-21F earnings forecasts which assume low single-digit growth as Venture&rsquo s customers launch new products. We cut FY20-21F earnings slightly to reflect these challenges. Downgrade to Hold Our TP rises to S$16.88 (still based on 12.5x P/E which is 0.5 s.d. below the 12-year forward average P/E of 15.4x) as we roll over to FY21. Potential rerating catalysts are successful new product launches by its customers, while slower orders from customers are a key downside risk. |

Officials from both countries on Thursday said China and the United States had agreed to roll back tariffs already put in place on each others goods if a (phase one) deal was concluded, but the idea has been met with opposition from some quarters of the administration US President Donald Trump. But.... Mr Trump himself, in comment said on last Friday he had not agreed to a tariff rollback. Oh ooo.....more turbulence coming |

Should be going up as it just broke upwards, after hitting the 200 week MA twice, from the downtrend line joined by the 2018 ATH to the 2019 19.56 point. Am looking forward for it to reach n clear 19.30/19.56 by week of 23Dec to confirm the bottom W shaped pattern.

Venture Corp Q3 net profit rises 5.5%
FRI, NOV 08, 2019 NET profit for Venture Corp rose 5.5 per cent to S$85.2 million for the third quarter ended Sept 30, the electronics manufacturing services firm announced on Friday. It credited the performance to its continued efforts to drive productivity gains and operational efficiency amid headwinds from geopolitical tensions. Revenue rose 12.8 per cent to S$869.1 million from S$770.4 million in Q3 2018, and earnings per share was 29.5 Singapore cents compared with 28 cents a year ago. For the nine months ended Sept 30, net profit edged up 1.7 per cent to S$266.9 million, and revenue grew 4.8 per cent to S$2.7 billion. Earnings per share improved to 92.6 Singapore cents from 91.3 cents a year ago. In its results filing, Venture said it expects some uncertainties in the business and geopolitical environment may remain unabated", and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) continue to shift their supply chain flows to mitigate tariff effects. It takes advantage of these shifts to render support to its partners, Venture added. It will be supporting several partners in new and key product launches over the next 12 months, and expects to see traction in its entries into new technology domains and ecosystems. It plans to continue investing in growing its capabilities in these areas through multilateral partnerships. Venture shares closed up 10 Singapore cents or 0.61 per cent to S$16.60 on Friday before results were announced.

Agreed with you that nasdap hit the peak point but venture is still sluggish. I guess everyone is waiting for the result and this will determine the trends for next few weeks, based on my opinion.
