 Alert Admin 		Probably they wanna finish the trading by 21 May then mail to alll new right shares holder like me too on 22 May onwards ? Mmm I think we can pay on 22 May . Wonder how come the old owners didn?t get the details too but I Guess u can pay paynow transfer for the conversion

 Alert Admin 		Sia have been making profit for the last 49 years but once the virus hit sg, they cannot tahun liao, must get support from sg Gov. Sia just got lucky.

Ah Liang... the MCB R are worthless unless SIA goes up to 4.8. In the first place, the MCB R shouldnt be moving up with the mother share cos it was ard 3.8. The rights on the other hand are moving in tandem with the mother and trading at a discount of roughly 10c

SIA R - 0.6 
SIA 3.72

SIA MCB and SIA R will expire 21may. So expect prices to drop over next few days until its worthless. So just exercise ur rights by topping up $1 for MCB R or $3 for SIA R. 
by purchasing SIA R at 0.6, u get to pay $3 at atm machine/SIA website by 28th May to exercise ur rights to covert ur SIA R to SIA shares. (Total price 3.60) compared to SIA price now 3.72, u save 0.12/share. 

however, im pretty sure most ppl dont want to exercise the rights so they will sell off. So expect the SIA R price to drop another 10-15% at least when market opens 9am. 

My take for tuesday 19may. SHORT SIA R at 0.56-0.6, BUY at 0.48-0.5 end of day. (If open price is above 0.6, pls do not follow above)

*if open price is less than 0.6*
expect the price to drop to 45-50c range tmr 19may

and slowly drop to 20cents on last trading day. 21may. 

Relationship between mother share and SIA R share is 0.1 difference. So keep a lookout. 

also, fair value for SIA has dropped to 4.00 from a good 4.60 earlier this month. Expect further drop in mother share SIA. 

If SIA R rises on tues, short on Wed. Thursday is last trading day for SIA R, price will go down either Tues or Wed, if not, both days!

Nonetheless I have averaged again before market closes today SIANZ . Will sell some and keep some for conversion:

Few Factors to consider for Q3 and Q2: 

1. Oil prices is rising again 32 dollars now or so. If SIA have hedged again early this year, they could reduce the loss while making the maturing contract to have a smaller loss?

2. Vaccinne news and there is articles on wechat under Singapore Eyes that SG is opening cinemas! If cinemas can be opened on 1 June, there are high chances that SIA resume some of its flight in June with some precautionary measures that wil be understaken as mentioned in the platforms like ST or Today.


Hence, I will recommend a buy of right shares for conversion IF you intend to invest in a blue chip PERSONALLY. 

Meanwhile, we all know that some blue chip companies have their cyclical cycle with 1-3 years or 2-5 years before it rises from its low to its peak for 80-100% profit. OCBC, DBS , YZJ are a few that had demonstrated 100% profit within 3 years . AEM and UMS also have shown 80- 100% profit within few months... this year too.
Caveat : there are also some that dipped badly too LOL

Say if you exercise the right share by paying the $9. the total cost price of your 5 shares will be (20 + 3 (3)) /5 = $5.80 each share

If you dont exercise but sell now (say 60 cents each today) , your cost price for 2 shares will be  (20 - 1.80)/ 2 = 9.10 each share much higher and u dont hv much shares than before. 

The best thing is one long term investor can buy right share now at 0.60 and convert --> then the cost price is 3.60 each share.

The above are 3 different scenarios (for older holder of SIA shares and new holder of SIA shares ) . DYODD as some is predicting the right share will go to zero LOL. It will make the older holder of SIA bleed further if they dont buy the shares and sell at a lower price . 
My conclusion is sell earlier at 95 cents or dont sell low to shortist anymore.

From 13 May 2020 up till 28 May 2020, investors may exercise the rights. This means paying SGD 3 per rights share or SGD 1 per rights MCB in order to convert the rights into shares/MCB. Those who do should receive the securities on 5 June 2020, and may start trading them beginning 8 June 2020 for the ordinary shares and 9 June 2020 for the MCB. Investors who intend to exercise their rights should look out for further information in the offer information statement.

In the event where investors choose not to exercise their rights, the rights will automatically expire on 28 May 2020. On top of that, investors will likely see some dilution to the value of their shareholdings.

In investing, one should know when to cut loss and move on. Taking into account of current situation and potentially another $6b worth of MCBs coming up next, when can a shareholder who bought at $10 expect to breakeven? 7yrs? 10yrs? And meanwhile, this investor need to throw in another $9 now to take up the 3 share rights. Does it make any sense?

How about the effect of MCBs?

Note that share recovery will be different as result of signification enlargement of issued shares.
