According on upstream, COOEC already withdrew bidding P84 unexpectedly, Seatrium winning both P84 and P85 will bring down the renewable energy order to 25% of total order book. So will shortist need cover back unexpectedly starting from tomorrow? Let see 😉 | ||||

Seatrium has the competitive edge over COOEC for FPSO new built for Petrobras for 3 reasons. 25% local content if required. Easy for Seatrium to meet as they own the 2 biggest yards in Brazil (EJA and Keppel Fels Brasil) For a S$4 billion FPSO project, you need at least $500 million working capital +standby banking facility which very few yards including COOEC have. China yards are used to work as a sub-contractor rather than taking on mega projects as a main-con. Seatrium has about 70-80% global market share for FPSO topside integration while China yards are more adept at the lower value work of building the FPSO hull. They do not have enough experience in integration work and often face problems. |
