To put things into perspective - STI is currently 25% lower than its all time high above 3,800pts. And we are talking about valuations of blue chip world renowned coys with reliable dividend paying track records. Our market has just been severely bashed down by shortists and weakened emotions. Asia set for modest open, as investors mull Turkish coup risks 35 Mins Ago The Australian market is set to open slightly lower on Monday, with SPI futures trading down 0.2 percent at 5,378, compared to the ASX 200' s last close at 5,429.57. Nikkei futures in Chicago were up 0.88 percent at 16,705, higher than the Japanese benchmark index' s Friday close at 16,497.85. However, Japanese markets are shut for the Marine Day public holiday. " Asian markets do not seem to have been overly perturbed by the S & P 500' s negative close or news of the Turkish coup," said Angus Nicholson, a market analyst at brokerage IG. " This week will decide whether this will be a minor blip on the path higher [for markets] or whether this rally will reverse sharply. " Nicholson added news of the failed coup could hit sentiment in emerging markets. |

We are close to the end game....end of all equity market...like i say there is no free market in this world.... there is no price discovery.. central banks around the world are proping the bond & equity market...
BOJ is say to be top 10 largest shareholder in 90% of the listed coy... This is the only question u need to ask... if equity market is so good... why would central buy the stock market... and who is seller... Ah gong is buying and someone is selling ...so isnt it obvious that onces the intended seller are done with the market .... they wont be any buyer left... Also south china sea is heating up and will central banks like BOJ and ECB being force out of the market.... once things get out of hand? Like collapse of EU... war in south china sea... The establishment only knows to use brute force... the people have lost faith and confident in the establishment... like i always say if they take care at least 70 of the people there will be no issue... From what i see there will be a big collapse in stock market in 2017 to 2018.... everyone will be affected.... its over .... as the elite is slowly and but steady pushing the global market off a cliff... Good luck guys... we are in extreme valuation time in the western world... 1) US market is trading close to 27x PE historic avg is 16x PE 2) US housing market price is now exceeding of year 2007. We have housing bubble part 2 3) Currency used to back by gold in the 70s are now backed by faith and confident of the government. We will soon have a reset and currency will be backed by gold again... Everyone must be alert and watch out for threats... like our PM say singapore is vunerable. See anything suspicous report it.. everyone plays a part to defend singapore... All warmongers should be trial and charge... may the light shine once again... and bring peace to our world... |

If it can cross 2950 convincingly, there should be a big run up past 3,000pts. But really depends on how the global stimulus, growth and interest rate scenario pans out. For now I'm rather optimistic that the Goldilocks effect will prevail.

 Dow futures lower amid apparent attempted military coup in Turkey Dow futures fell in Friday' s late session after an apparent attempted coup in Turkey, as the news began to flow. In regular trading, the blue-chips index extended its winning streak to six days. The Turkish lira plummeted against the dollar and the euro after an apparent attempted coup against the Turkish government. Art Hogan, chief market strategist at Wunderlich Securities that, since it was a Friday afternoon, there were few players in the market and it was easy for them to move the market. " The news of this coup in Turkey is hitting us," he said. However, he emphasized it was a knee-jerk reaction and did not necessarily indicate what the market would look like on Monday. The iShares MSCI Turkey ETF (TUR) fell about 7 percent in after-hours trading. " The situation is still very fluid," said Adam Sarhan, CEO of Sarhan Capital. " Investors, typically, during times of duress, sell first and ask questions later." This is breaking news. Please check back for updates. U.S. stocks closed mostly lower Friday as a massive rally on Wall Street eased. . " It' s probably just a pause," said Randy Warren, chief investment officer at Warren Financial " We' re starting to get decent economic data now it' s time for earnings to back that up." European equities were weighed down by a terror attack in Nice, France that killed at least 84 people. China' s economy beat estimates Friday with a 6.7 percent expansion on-year in the three months through June, as a string of stimulus measures from the government and the central bank helped shore up demand. Economists polled by Reuters expected a growth rate of 6.6 percent. Second quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in China was up 1.8 percent from the first quarter, Reuters reported. Volume: 2,223.9M Value: $1,400.4M Gainers/Losers: 238/200 Singapore shares close higher in response to Wall St' s all-time highs THE Singapore Exchange' s (SGX) system breakdown on Thursday will surely dominate headlines and be the subject of conversation among industry players, but more important is that Wall Street' s S & P 500 index has set four consecutive all-time highs this week - if it manages another record on Friday, it would make for a " perfect week" , the first since 1998. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, in the meantime, rose to three consecutive all-time highs between Tuesday and Thursday and the Nasdaq Composite to its highest in 2016. Buoyed by this performance, traders pushed the Straits Times Index (STI) up 78 points or 2.7 per cent over the week to 2,925.35, of which 18.43 points came during Friday' s session when the local market played catch-up with the rest of the region after it had been closed for most of Thursday following SGX' s system glitch. Because of pent-up trading energy, Friday' s volume swelled from a daily average of S $ 1.1 billion to 2.2 billion units worth S $ 1.4 billion, of which S $ 951 million or 68 per cent was done in the 30 STI components. The index is now 43 points or 1.5 per cent higher for the year to date. |

European stocks open lower after Nice attacks 1 Min Ago European stocks opened lower on Friday as investor sentiment was dampened by an attack in France in which a man drove a truck into a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day, killing at least 80 people. The pan-European STOXX 600 was down 0.38 percent. Late on Thursday, a man drove a truck through a crowd in Nice, in the South of France, during Bastille Day celebrations, leaving at least 80 dead and around 18 in critical condition. The attacker was killed. French President Francois Hollande extended the state of emergency in France for another three months. The attack hit the already-fragile investor sentiment on Friday, which was just starting to recover after Britain' s new Prime MinisterTheresa May took office and named her cabinet, helping the U.K. move towards political stability. At the same time, investor sentiment has been boosted in recent days due to the anticipation of easier monetary policy from global central banks around the world. Although the Bank of England held its key interest rate at 0.5 percent on Thursday, the markets expect that an interest rate cut could be on the cards. Meanwhile, China' s economy expanded faster-than-expected in the second quarter with gross domestic product growing 6.7 percent, helping to allay fears about trouble in the world' s second-largest economy. |
