I am not sure if you are ill-informed or deliberately lying again. Prior to earnings (26 February), its share price was $2.50. Today, it is $2.58 (plus another upcoming 18 cents dividend). So I' m afarid you are wrong.

a balance market where prices moves up and down base on business results and expectations. then big organization or small retail can make or lose money, then it will become more and more active. but as it is now the shortist organization is in control. they select the counter to short and push it down. if still cannot they create news or push it out of index. if retail always loose money as big money force their positions in their way. then over time. people cannot make money why participate. young one go crupto or us market where they can make money. |

that why the $5billion will be wasted if SGX allows rampant short selling with super low interest to borrow scripts by the shortists. But u think they care? more short selling means more profit for SGX, of course they dun care UNLESS govt force them to take action One way I can think of is lending scripts based on the yield of the counter. For eg: CLI current yield is around 7% based on the 18 cents total dividend. So SGX has to set a interest rate of at least half let say 3.5% to borrow the scripts. Right now is less than 0.5% for most counters, of course shortists have a field time shorting.

see the shorted value is 200+ m. what did the shortist contributes to build the business of capitaland invest? with such a big shorted number unless there is a rich organization to counter it. the share price are controlled by the shortist. they will continue to keep it at there until they have money to buy back. they just put a big sell to stop it from going up |

just take 3 short position from mas report. 28/6 /24 89536599 shares $238m all shorted value > $3.085b 17/01/25 108642512 shares $268m all shorted value > $3.481b 21/02/25 109076627 shares $267m all shorted value > $3.523b total short value i use > because too lazy to covert those counters in usd to sgd. but we see the trend . foreign houses continue using sgx counters to get cash out of our system. there needs to be control on how many shares can be shorted by any related parties and report the number shorted by related parties when above a certain number. talks about short help discover prices are bullshit when it is in bad faith. billions of $ put in to support market will not work if it is spread out in many counters. concentrate your strength to attack those good stock but ken shorted like reits by tm group. just take one and buy till the shorts has to cover the price will go up. then move on to the next one. etc. |
