True. Many times, the price seems to increase before some good news is being released.. as if insiders are already in the know and are quietly buying shares up ... just like smrt and singpost .... so it' s just hard to time the market ... as long as the company is still making profits and little debt, it pays to stay vested ... no point going in and out and waste time & $$$ timing the market ... |

it depends how supergroup convey the results to the public...if Q2 is bad and they are able to say that this is the weakest and that it will be behind us...the stock should still rallied despite short term weaknesses...hope they announce that they bought into some commodity firms dealing in cocoa ....u never know..

I think it may retrace to 136. next Q is as bad as the current one. I has chat the invester relation, she told me this coming one will be their weakest. U can talk to the invester relation, go call them. |

Noted, and thanks for the information. My impression is that the co is a rather slow and conservative one (correct me if I am wrong), it had an exceptionally good year in 2013 which may be hard to beat this year unless they come up with asset sale or M& A. I think one of the reasons for the bonus issue was to try to muffle shareholder disappointment with 1st Q results, but it fell short of expectations as people sold their shares down. The chart shows a gap between last Friday' s closing price and today' s opening price. Closing is higher, three white candles in a row, the last white candle has broken out of the head and shoulders formation. Hope tomorrow' s closing would be strong so that a breakaway gap can be confirmed. Such a gap would signify beginning of a strong new upward trend.

Hi Sun233, Sorry! See wrongly. The ex div date was 09/05/14 (the one i saw is american format). Not sure when the next ex div, but the previous was SGD 0.035. |

This company is on the verge of a major upswing. It has consolidated over two months to form a head and shoulders pattern, price moved up strongly today, with a gap from last Friday' s closing. The price drop was due to a 1 for 1 bonus issue in May 2014, and poor first quarter results. However, the impact is softened is you remove the net finance income which was a huge chunk in 2013, NPAT dropped 10%. ROE on the annualised 1st qtr results still clocked in 15%. In 2013, ROE was 21%. This co has no debt, strong cash flow, huge reserves, eps growth in 2013 year on year was 26%. Vested this morning. |
