Bloomberg Malaysia glove maker shares including Top Glove Corp. surged after the US was expected to finalize tariffs on Chinese goods this month. Top Glove jumped as much as 32%, the most ever, while Hartalega Holdings Bhd rallied by the 30% limit. The gains come a day after Thailand peers spiked as analysts point out that Southeast Asian producers will be the main beneficiaries. Malaysia&rsquo s market was closed for a holiday on Monday. Does tariff only imposed to gloves export from china to US?? Then china made gloves sell to other countries involve the tariff?? What happen if china factories cut their gloves price N sell to others??

Analysts believe that the US's punitive measures against China will have a significant spillover effect on Malaysian glove manufacturers, and the average selling price of Chinese gloves may be higher than that of Malaysia as early as next year.
Previously, the United States proposed to raise import tariffs on Chinese gloves to 25% in 2026, which is far lower than the current adjustment level. Analysts continued that this is likely to cause the average selling price of Chinese gloves to soar from the current US$17 to US$25.50 in 2025, or even to US$34 in 2026. |
