STATS ChipPac breaks 50 cts/shr resistance on takeover interest SHARES of STATS ChipPAC continued to climb on Monday morning in heavy trade, fuelled by news that a third party has expressed interest to acquire the Temasek-linked semiconductor packaging and testing services company. Its shares hit 51 cents each before trading around 50.5 cents by 10:30 am, up 4.5 cents or almost 10 per cent from Friday' s close. More than 25 million shares changed hands. STATS ChipPAC' s counter had started trending upward on May 15, which led to a query by Singapore Exchange on its unusual share price and volume movements. To this, it replied: " The company has received a non-binding expression of interest from a third party, with a view to a possible acquisition of all the shares in the company subject to a number of conditions. The company, which is 84 per cent owned by Temasek Holdings, cautioned that there was no assurance that this would lead to any definitive agreement or transaction. |

Olam NTA $1.57, jump from $1.45 to $1.99 then they confirm take over at $2.23. Capitalmall NTA $1.87, jump from $1.67 to $1.80 then they confirm take over at $2.22. STATS NTA $0.515, jump from $0.36 to $0.525 then they confirm take over at $0.70 (Normally takeover price much higher then NTA one) |
