CEO Wong is very strategic on his biz approach (Tuas Boulevard and EJA mega high tech yards) and technology acquisitions (Sevan SSP, LMG Marin and Gavifloat) over the past decade. Sembmarine is only going for projects that will allow them to build on their technological edge over the competitors. Dyna mac' s project win is a " Sub-contractor" deal. Module fabrication is lower margin and not something SCM is aiming for. SCM is going for the " whole FPSO" kind of deals like Cambo FPSO and Witsing FPSO and other turn key projects. Similiarly, tier 1 players like Keppel OM are also going for the whole FPSO, integrator or main contractors deal type like P78 and P79. I mentioned the Dyna mac' s win to show that the space capacity of yards are dwindling. Offshore boom is now. Is high time they announce breakthrough i.e. " Clinch Deals" This is utmost import for survival, to say the least. Thereafter, than talk about profitability. And stock price will move in tandem.
