For your recap, attached is the OSPL Weekend Market Express (Edited Short Version), which was sent out on the 21st July (Saturday) to your individual mobile phone What&rsquo s Apps, which highlighted of the 3 bank names of its potential share price movement...* *DBS* *1.* DBS gains 1.2%, outpaces Straits Times Index gains. The shares surged to S$26.48 from S$26.16. Trading volume was 1.9 times the 20-day average for this time of day. DBS' s move compares with the 1.1% gain in the Straits Times Index STI. 52% of the shares that traded were at the ask price and 39% were at the bid. *2.* DBS 2Q results due on 2nd August, to be followed with the interim dividend (Expect a pro-rata upward revision of the interim dividend, due to the new benchmark divdend payoput of S$1.20 , starting from 2018. *3. Hear what OIR says:* The recent regional sell-down has brought valuations lower, but we still believe DBS deserves a higher premium than its peers in this region. We have dropped our valuation to 1.7x book (in line with the decline in regional peers from 1.6x to 1.5x), dropping our fair value from S$34.60 to S$32.67. At current price, dividend yield is 4.6% *UOB* *1.* UOB jumps 2.6% the biggest move since April 18, compared with end-of-day price changes, more than double the country' s benchmark index. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	I agree that they wld most likely up dividend to $1.20  ( but the ratio cld be 50/50 or even 40/80 whichever ) .  But again nothing is 100% sure Baring an ALL OUT war in trade, DBS n anyone wld revise their dividend n keep cash .  ( ie is why dividend is not certain ) The reason I thk is not scrap scipt but to return cash to shareholders and also DBS is a good long term investor chip in the eyes of many large funds. I am vested but unless the trade issue is clear...DBS wld take time to return to $30s.
