In the olden days telco business have been fairly straighforward... fibre to the tower, satellite, cellular, etc. Then came late 90s where they venture into call centres, data centre, managed hosting, media, internet related stuff. Some like AT& T went into content. In the past decade, a lot of telco giants have started again to diversfied from non core, capex intensive to go back to telco roots.  Due to these reasons, personally i look at telco companies individually rather than an industry. As for Singtel I just got vested. TIA.   pasttime      ( Date: 01-Feb-2021 07:14) Posted: worldwide there is a shift of money away from telco. do not know the real reasons.  but these has happened. 1. their cheese is being stolen away by apps that provide voice and video call. hence reducing telco to only infra provider. 2. the cost of constant putting in new generations of infra and the recovery period is not long enough to get sufficient benefits from the investments. 3. wrong percention by management and government that telco is a cash cow. cow for sure , cash is being erroded. government need to rethink about putting in more competition to review the correct number of telcos and the free ride that apps is taking to provide voice and video call without telecommunications license. 4. telco borrow a lot of money in anticipations of cash flow. but when cash is not comming as much as anticipated they still have to service the loan and interest. some telco interest payment is more  then millions users monthly payment. think about it. telco is going thru changes. like any business affected by the disruptive nature of apps.

Hiaz yes.. this counter really challange your discipline and abilities to hold. Also the art of not getting irritated by negative energy and noise... haa haa. Indeed it iwll go up eventually, only matter of time, so the question is whether can you hold till then. Got money buy more lor, treat as fixed deposit. Cheers.
