x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	With both SMM and Keppel Corp wanting to go the renewables route, this merger is going to be extremely difficult. At the same time, Keppel Corp is working hard to beef up its order book so that it will appear more appealing to the potential partner, and so to get a higher bid price. On the other hand, Temasek will look bad if another one of Singapore iconic business , meaning oil rigs, go to a foreign country. Which leave SMM as the only polictically correct suitor.

If we consider the structure taken by the REITs, it is possible to fund purchase through new shares. No actual dilution as old shares = SMM NAV. New shares = KOM NAV. On a continuous basis  CL00,  3.23%,  prices were hovering at a level not seen since mid-October 2018, according to FactSet. Prices  hit their highest since Oct, 29, 2018,  on Thursday.
