Since the announcement of the 4.5b expansion plan , I call for sell as so long the management don?t clarify how they are going to raise the funds needed, the price will drop daily . Market doesn?t like uncertainty . If they have the necessary internal funds , they would have announce it. Bidding for Japan IR plus RWS expansion is a huge project which will take a lot of resources . It?s true that if it?s successful , both project will send Genting shares rocketing in maybe 3-5 years ? but as an investor , I will rather wait for funding to be secured and then enter . Let others beat the risk of the funding , price tank and then renter at a lower price . That way , the margin of gain in the future is higher . Those who hold now bears the risk of share dilution GS simply do not have the cash to undertake both project. A good example is Wynn resorts whose share price tank more than 10% after it announce it would acquire Crown casino for S$9.7 billion . Any expansion will incur short term pain for the incumbent before any long term gain is realised . If you are a long term strategic investor , then the expansion don?t really bother you at all. In any case , Wynn drop the take over offer . The gaming industry is so competitive in Asia right now so with the risk , bond might not reap the dividend for GS as the demand might be tough and runners will ask for a larger fee to help distribute the bonds . Furthermore credit agencies have now downgraded the bond market in Singapore. I believe high chance of a rights issue .
