The new properties will increase the group&rsquo s global footprint to more than 1,500 units across both regions. The recent launch of Fraser Suites West Bay, Doha marked the first of eight properties to open, making it the group &rsquo s second operating property in Qatar and the fifth in the Middle East.   The 396-unit property offers fully furnished serviced apartments combined with state-of-the-art guest amenities coupled with services and is well positioned to cater to travellers&rsquo needs as it offers a selection of studios, one, two and three bedroom residences. Separately, Frasers Hospitality will also enter the Saudi Arabian market for the first time with properties in Jeddah, Khobar and Riyadh. At present, the group&rsquo s operating properties in the region &ndash Fraser Suites Diplomatic Area Bahrain, Fraser Suites Seef Bahrain, Fraser Suites Doha and Fraser Suites Dubai &mdash all enjoy an average occupancy rate of over 75%. Meanwhile openings in Nigeria and the Republic of Congo will mark the group&rsquo s first entry into Africa. Frasers Hospitality&rsquo s global portfolio, including those in the pipeline, stands at 140 properties in more than 80 cities with 23,400 keys worldwide.

" Reaching the 30,000-unit growth mark in the next three years not only increases our portfolio by 30 per cent, but further anchors the group' s presence in dominant cities worldwide as well," said Frasers Hospitality chief executive Choe Peng Sum in a statement   He is looking at expanding the group' s portfolio both organically as well as through acquisitions, which figured prominently in Europe, as reflected in its recent purchase and rebranding of four boutique hotels in key cities and university towns in Britain. These hotels, along with two new properties, will add to the portfolio of 35 Malmaison and Hotel du Vin properties in Britain that Frasers Hospitality bought a year ago.     Following the group' s recent launch of Capri in Barcelona, Spain, and Frankfurt, Germany, as well as Fraser Suites Geneva in Switzerland, Frasers Hospitality is also set to open its first properties in Berlin and Hamburg. Listed Frasers Hospitality Trust, meanwhile, recently bought Maritim Hotel Dresden. In the Middle East, occupancy has been consistently high since 2009 when Frasers Hospitality launched its first property in Dubai and Doha. Owing to strong demand, Frasers Hospitality will increase its portfolio from four to 11 properties comprising more than 1,600 units in this region. The opening of Fraser Suites Abuja in Nigeria later this year will mark Frasers Hospitality' s venture into Africa. This will be followed by openings in Lagos and Congo as well. In China, there is a slate of openings, starting with the 345-unit Modena by Fraser Changsha this year and the 259-unit Fraser Suites Dalian Europark and 174-unit Fraser Place Nanchang by 2017. The component currently comprises over 70 retail and dining outlets, a supermarket and a performing theatre, but the trust describes the property as one with &ldquo cash flows and performance   &rdquo that &ldquo have yet to stabilise   &rdquo . The AEIs will be undertaken and financed by retail component&rsquo s master lessee, Y. K. Toranomom Properties (YKTP), a wholly owned subsidiary of TCC group, and as such, Frasers Hospitality Trust will incur no immediate capital outlay for the works. Frasers Hospitality Trust has described the AEIs as one that is in line with its plan to renovate and rejuvenate the hotel component of ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe, and position the property for an anticipated rise in visitor arrivals. Works that will be carried in the AEIs include replacement of mechanical and electrical equipment, installation of additional escalators, and refurbishment of interior furnishings and restrooms.   With the upcoming 2020 Olympics and the Japanese government easing visa restrictions to attract more tourists to the country, the rising international and domestic tourist arrivals will bode well for the tourism and retail markets in Kobe City, said the trust.
