congrats to all vested! HUAT for you folks!  damn. was hesistant to board the boat at 23.88, 24.06, 24.12 and then the speedboat is gone for good lol. BASKET. Really damn sian to have missed the speedboat.

First....I strongly advise ppl to read into the depth n know more what is the budget ...it depth n width coverage. Much appreciation on how much it covers n MORE so , we can balance it at the end.... NOT, yes NOT forgeting that we Spore has ZERO resource. Meaning ...income has to be from taxes ...( and very luckily we have interest income from our GIC n Temasek which contribute a big part of our budget) How many do appreciate that Msia ( our closest neighbor) can depend on oil or even durain if China demand is up.) Our ONLY resources is our ppl ......many can n wld like to point finger at this n that ....but at the end ...YEAR AFTER YEAR ...yes, Spore grow n become a stronger n richer country ....( see what happen to Msia with one term of wrong leader ) ....we can certainly fault the mistakes, talk or complaint abt this and that. ( or even a wild boar die on the road ) .....is it not that we Singapore are growing and can afford us to talk n complaint ?? At the end .....is the whole budget moving us forward n bindly Singapore together.......I wish and hope we ( only we Singaporean ) can seriously be thankful and work hard for our future generation n stop complainting ... " ask not what Budget or Singapore has done for you .....ask what u can contribute. " Have a good evening. |

I' ve not read very much, except to confirm what I' d always thought (that the principles being applied to dish out subsidies are flawed). So, I can' t comment much. But from my understanding, fiscal policies that pumps $$$ into the economy that will help stimulate growth is expansionary. To that end, giving freebies that encourage spending wld be expansionary. There is one issue though. I' ve heard in the heartland mkts the old uncles n aunties saying " don' t know how to spend the goodies" . So, they liberally buy things from the make-shift stalls that are such a common sight these days. Whether real needs or not becomes secondary. Unfortunately, a lot of the vendors they patronise are expats, ranging from Malaysians to Chinamen. So, all the budget goodies, maybe, turn out into forex outflows. What a joke.
