Local expansion which they named Genting 2.0 will not involve borrowing. Their net cash position helps. As for Japan IR, the borrowing will be in Japan which is extremely low cost.

Haha, stocks investment attracts no tax! Extremely low cost and no capital gain tax, no tax on dividend...... Bank interest earned, if above certain amount also subject to tax. Profit/rental from properties investment subject to tax. Shares buy and sell, no tax. Properties buy and sell subject to tax (not direct but in other forms eg. stamp duty, commission, lawyer' s fee etc.) |

If you are talking about rental yield, overseas ptys give better rental yield, not local. For local it is purely capital appreciation. The pty mkt is due for correction now, makes no sense to buy at these prices. When you see $1.5 mil ptys renting for 3k or less, you know something is very wrong.

By the way, I wrongly said no land cost for Genting 2.0 expansion plan. Actually, the 4.5 B expenditure includes 1 B for intensifying the plot ratio of current land and option to add 1 hectare (10,000 sq m) of land. As for MBS, their land cost is 1.3 B which is a 3.3 hectares plot where the fourth tower and a new theatre/performing venue will be built. Sorry for the mistake. |
