1.5 billion load capitalized and pay to shareholders and write-off from balance sheet. SCI market price prior to this has largely factored bad loan unrecoverable but now it has become cash to shareholders.

So if i have both 6 lots of SCI shares and 25 lots of SCM shares, does it make sense for me to sell 25 lots of SCM shares at current price of $0.60 to lock in profit while i wait for (4270*6=25,620) SCI to go XD and give me back my 25 lots of SCM shares? | ||||

Just hang on to the Sembcorp brothers, have a long way to go, what is the TPs from fund houses will not count. You have to see what the big bosses(BBs) have in their mind, maybe 3.50, 4.00 or even 4.50. Nobody knows. |

i find it hard to believe.. we buy SCI now $2.14 and will get 4x0.3= $1.20 SCM share consider after eX D ard 30cents someone please tell me... how come the deal is so good? |

A lot of blue chips trade in multiples of book value. Keeping that in mind. Purely theoretical. As the proposed 497 shares is dividend and ifnwenlook at it as dividend of 85cents = dividend of 40% per share. Any share paying 40% dividend will have buyers coming in for the dividend irrespective of book value of the company. Hence the price of SCI will go upto $4.25 or higher in next 4 months till DIvidend/ Rights payments to bring the dividend yield down to 20% or below which will be normal. Following the ex date we can also see a steep fall of 0.85 cents from the price at the time. This is my view on U96, yesterday when stating 2.38 people were skeptical but today $2.40 dont seem like a big deal. Similarly a bump higher purely based on dividend yield is possible. That would not be a big deal as even $4.50 maybe 2x book value which is common in the market. | ||||

Hold on for your 4-5x lots of sem marine shares. It doesn' t makes sense to sell at this price. Good luck.

i think price is still ok, must remember for every SCI share you get 4 SMM share worth minimum 80c, so your cost of SCI is $1.20 now, then compare it with their NAV post demerger $1.94 you go and search on shareinvestor global pure play utility players, which one trade at 40% discount at 0.6x NAV, then since share price went up by 30% up with EPS also up 22% post demerger (in presentation), dividiend yield will maintain at 3%+, the only thing i havent check is the PE valuation with the 22% EPS increase i will wait for a few days, if no pullback then cant wait anymore

After Demerger - Win Win For Both SCI & SM Both SCI & SM will draw a line between them in order to perform well in the upcoming markets... SCI may focus fully on Energy & Utilities business which may bring recurring revenue to all shareholders... SM may seem to lose out now with the Demerger news but they have clear their SCI debts which is a good news...In long term, SM may move upwards too... It is a normal practise for businesses to have Loan to generate more Investments / Profits... To become a Giant in the world, One Stop JV maybe foreseen in the near future... Look like SCI & SM are the driving machines for the future needs with beyond target prices...  |

as excited and delighted (cloud 9) alongside with majority SCI-vested bro & sis here, im begining to feel skeptical in regards to this demerger. i have not added more into SCI since the opening of $2.00 per share today.. " Why SCI is giving free SMM shares to all of it' s shareholders?" for every 100 SCI shares owned, one would receive 427 to 491 SMM shares many have shown their math calculations and profit is really rewarding. it' s reported that SCI had loaned $1.5b to SMM. why would they write off and give it' s shareholders for free? (did i intepret wrongly?) SCI could just absorb the sales of the SMM rights and retreive their loan isn' t it? so.. is it really a good choice to add more at $2.XX? really so good?? really for free?? (many bros are shouting here to add and setting target px) i may have interpreted this whole issue wrongly.. -.- so hope to gain some valuable feedbacks here! |
