Be happy la Starship      ( Date: 25-Mar-2019 11:00) Posted: Ppl fm broking houses and related industries are always everywhere (online, blogs, news media, tv, seminars, etc, etc) trying to get ppl to trade on a daily basis.  They all hate real investors like Warren Buffet. Bcos if all iinvestors are like Buffet, all the broking houses and related industries would close shop.

Now the pratical side of trading.  Again, I will post the questions for the individual investors to come to their own conclusion. 1) If you know the market is going into correction, does it make money sense to hold on to your shares? 2) If you are holding shares now, wouldn' t it make more sense to sell at least some and buy back later at a cheaper price? 3) If you are not holding an shares now, doesn' t it make more sense to buy cheaper later? Whenever each of us post our forecast (wishlist) here, we' re like guests attending a 10-Course Chinese banquet. Unhappy guest A (e.g. those who dislike either the groom/bride, those who paid too much angpow, etc) will say Lousy, the lobster appetiser not fresh and suckling pig skin not crispy.  Happy Guest B (e.g. those who are best pals with groom/bride, those who gave normal angpow, etc) will say Excellent, the braised abalone very big and succulent and the dessert is delightful. Both parties basically pick and choose what they say based solely on their own personal benefits. But one thing we' ve seen over the last 10 years which is an established Fact, Not Fiction: Cheap money and low interest rate environment is good for economy, more ppl and companies borrow money, more ppl and companies spend money.  Better than the reverse when interest rates keep climbing. So, I prefer to think the Fed' s current stance is good for DBS.  Many sour posters here talk as if the people in DBS are dummies who don' t know what they' re doing.  But the fact remains it' s  not the World' s Best Bank by chance.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	I stand by what I said - that a falling interest-rate env is a negative for DBS.  I' d like to think I' m a balanced forurmer.  My earlier posts on DBS were that NIM wld improve when interest rates were rising.  Now, with the reverse happening, I' d like to think I' m logical abt the reverse impact.  Also, I' d posted a number of times that I' m not concerned abt our bks' taking excessive risks overseas, pointing out that MAS exercises strict suprvision over the bks.
