Wow our BANKS are speeding ahead w the coming results in Mid Feb. DBS hit new high of $34.35 UOB is just shy of $28 and OCB $11.80 ( still slow behind DBS) Is this at the expense of SEA weightage ( so balancing by funds) ......or expecting gd full yr result ( which is expected) or a special dividend good luck and happy investing. CNY ang-pow maybe coming DYODD |

With the addition of OCBC, the team says it prefers the bank over DBS due to its better 2022 earnings growth of 3% y-o-y versus DBS&rsquo s 2% decline. This is driven by the team&rsquo s &ldquo expectation of 7.1% y-o-y loan growth and 1.53% net interest margin (NIM) in 2022&rdquo for OCBC. &ldquo In addition, we view OCBC&rsquo s valuations as inexpensive given its 2022 price-to-book (P/B) of 1.0 times. Our target price for OCBC of S$15.35 implies 35% upside from current share price levels,&rdquo it adds. UOB Kay Hian analyst Jonathan Koh has rated &ldquo buy&rdquo on OCBC in anticipation of the stellar loan growth in 2022. | ||||

wow DBS is a cool $6 more than UOB ......which means Kep + UOB is still not equal to DBS bank ( hmm ) It is trading at 1.5X its book value . Time will tell if DBS can defy gravity . DYODD |

DBS will hit $40 this year. Singapore GDP will soar this year and rate hike will benefit the bank sector. $50 is no longer a dream for DBS. |

Wow DBS hit an all time high of 33.09 this is over 1.45X its book value. OCBC n UOB is following slowly behind at 1155 and 2723....much room to catch up Result season is Feb 14/18 UOB has chosen 16th Feb BEFORE mkt open , confident haha (60c plus ?? any special bonus /guess? ) Dyodd |

DBS should have breached ATH now. And YES, they should be generous and pay a generous dividend for 2021 Q4 and going forward as the dividend caps did not result in any necessary funds, and we have been shortchanged for 1 year of dividends.

SINGAPORE (Reuters) -Singapore' s economy grew slightly more than expected in the fourth quarter from a year earlier, preliminary data showed on Monday. The financial and transport hub saw an uneven recovery last year as countries around the world shifted their coronavirus strategies to living with the pandemic. Gross domestic product (GDP) expanded 5.9% in October-December on a year-on-year basis, the Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement. Economists polled by Reuters had expected growth of 5.4%. GDP grew 2.6% on a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted basis in October-December. The bellwether economy grew 7.2% in 2021, the fastest pace since 2010, preliminary data showed on Monday and largely in line with the government' s official projection of about 7%. DBS should close 32.70 , just short of its ALL TIME HIGH. UOB is again at the $27 mark ( cool $5+ behind DBS ...hmmm are there more for UOB in 2022) OCBC is still keeping just above 11.40 ( will new CEO Helen change the view on how OCBC shld perform in the stock market haha) Anyway , the big year end dividend season is coming up w expectation of good full 2021 results / will there be potential for a special dividend from OCBC and UOB ? Christmas is hours away . Our 3 banks esp DBS are holding on well ....keeping STI above 3100 DBS 32.50 , OCBC 11.30 and UOB 26.80 ..hopefully crossing to higher heights come end 2021. Not vested OCBC is ridiculously under-valued at this price 1. OCBC is undervalued in terms of its dividend yield, PE ratio and PB ratio. 2. Excellent management 3. If OCBC ever fully revalues assets then it is a $40 stock 4. Cheapest of top 3 banks in SG 5. Sound dividend expected early February 2022 |
