Conman keeps singing the doom of taxis and CDG. But his favourite Grab is buying a taxi company ?.
SINGAPORE - Ride-hailing giant Grab is acquiring Trans-Cab, Singapore?s third largest taxi operator. The purchase, for an undisclosed amount but understood to be around $100 million, includes some 2,200 taxis and more than 300 private-hire vehicles which Trans-Cab owns. Sources told The Straits Times that negotiations started merely two months ago, and the transaction is slated to be completed this week. The deal will have to approved by the authorities. |

Assuming 10 cents annual dividend, CDG yield is 8% now. When interest rates taper down, this 8% yield becomes very attractive to investors.

FY18 10.5 cts ($2.1) FY19 9.79 cts ($2.3) FY20 1.43 cts ($1.6) FY21 4.2 cts ($1.4) FY22 8.48 cts ($1.2) FY23 likely > 8.48 cts (share price?) CDG is a dividend stock where shareholders buy primarily for income and hopefully capital appreciation. With interest rates peaking and dividends climbing, we can expect CDG price to increase. I am not a trader, so I won?t know when it will rise or fall though. I just collect dividends and wait for markets to respond rationally. |

ComfortDelGro unit wins six-year contract to operate rail services in Paris
ComfortDelGro (CDG) has been awarded a contract to operate rail services in Paris, marking the company&rsquo s first foray into France&rsquo s rail operations market as well as a first by a Singapore company.
This comes less than two years after CDG won the contract to operate rail services in Auckland, New Zealand &mdash its first overseas rail operations.
The award was given to ORA, an international consortium comprising CDG and two French companies RATP Dev and Alstom. The former is a global operator of urban and inter-urban transport systems while the latter is a pioneer in sustainable intelligent mobility solutions.
The contract, which is for an initial term of six years with the opportunity for further extension to nine years, is for the South sector of Line 15 &mdash a new automated line under the ambitious 200km Grand Paris Express (GPE) greenfield metro programme in the Greater Paris region.
ORA will operate and maintain metro services across 16 stations, passing through 22 cities over 33km. With an expected daily ridership of 390,000, it will be the first of the GPE projects to commence passenger service by the end of 2025.
Through its subsidiary SBS Transit, CDG is also collaborating with RATP Dev to bid for the upcoming Jurong Region Line and the Cross Island Line in Singapore, says managing editor and group CEO Cheng Siak Kian.

&ldquo Leveraging RATP Dev&rsquo s international expertise, we will, for instance, jointly create localised solutions where the transfer of technology and competencies will further strengthen our rail reliability and prokote local rail engineering capabilities,&rdquo he adds.
The latest win brings the international rail network operated by CDG to 210km, and increase over 16% of its current 177km in Singapore and Auckland. The company is also participating in a rail tender in Stockholm, Sweden in partnership with Go-Ahead Nordic.

Paris Métro Line 15 is one of four new lines of Grand Paris Express, a major expansion project of the Paris Métro. Currently under construction, the line will provide a new orbital route through the suburbs of Paris, servicing the departments of Hauts-de-Seine, Val-de-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis.
The southern section of the line is planned to open in 2025, with the completed line planned to open in the early 2030s. Line 15 will be fully automated, along with all other Grand Paris Express lines, and when completed, it will be the longest underground rapid tunnel for passenger traffic in the world. |
