Just imagine, like what they have done with masks, tokens, oximeters, everybody given one test kit, do a self-test, using DISA' s system, within days, metadata of covild-19 of the entire population can be collected. |

Its price is 001 on 7 dec. Now it is 004, think BBs alrdy bought up liao, alrdy 300% more. Frankly its sh issue to huge lah, got 10 Bil shaes. Say it can make S10mil profit from this product, its eps is only 0.001. Looking thru its past profit record for the last 10 yrs, every yr loss wan. Just opinion.

Medical thing always will take sometime to approve one. Cannot suka suka one. Btw, DISA responsible to manufacture but high patent fee usually need to paid by manufacturer to those inventor, right? How much profit will it be left?

Wonder why take 3-6 months to clear the approval? Since it is just a testing kit and is proven effective, why Singapore authorities can' t speed up the process. They should give the go-ahead and provide fund to support mass production. Can' t wait to see airports are using PASPORT on all travellers. It will save everybody' s time. I know of many friends trying to avoid taking ART because it is irritation and discomfort. |

image credit- Duke-NUS A potentially game-changing Antigen Rapid Test (ART) technology to diagnose COVID-19 has been developed by scientists in Singapore. Using a proprietary on-kit amplification technique, a person&rsquo s saliva can be self-administered or tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus at the point-of-care with sensitivity higher than current ART tests and close to that of laboratory-based polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests. Dubbed the Parallel Amplified Saliva rapid POint-of-caRe Test (PASPORT), the technology produces results in minutes, without the need for additional equipment or specially-trained personnel. The invention was borne out of a research collaboration between Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS)&mdash collectively member institutes of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre&mdash and the National University of Singapore (NUS). Duke-NUS and SingHealth have filed intellectual property protection for the invention, and have entered into a license agreement with Digital Life Line Pte Ltd, a Singapore-based company. The inventors hope that through close collaboration with commercial partners, the product can be out in the market as soon as possible to serve healthcare needs in Singapore and beyond. |
