Think logically... What are the pro/con for ceasing of their operation? What are the pro/con for continuing their opeartion? What will happen even if they engaged in such large scale operation before approval? To me, there is no reason to prolong stop work order, unless their operation is damaging the environment. CNMC is profitable/paying tax and local people benefit from their operation. No one benefits by shutting down their operation. From their web, " The primary negative social impact from mining operations is the loss of employment when its operations cease. However, to mitigate this downside, the local workforce would have been fully trained with multi-skilled experience that is transferable to other mining or similar industries. Nonetheless, with our on-going exploration programme to further expand our resources and reserves, the Company is confident that mining operations in Kelantan will continue in the foreseeable future."

http://www.theedgemarkets.com.sg/sg/article/did-stop-work-order-trigger-sharp-fall-cnmc-goldmine Someone posted on FB. There are a few good point in this report. - CEO/team is working on acquisition of Pulai Mining. - Stop-work order came from the land and mines office which issues exploration and mining licenses and not from the environment or health departments.[So, stop work order is not due to violation] - Stop-work order is due to application of large scale operation status.[There were people who believe this reason was BS] - They are extending licence to 21 years. The news actually good. But, mkt took it as bad by just looking at stop work order. IMO, this stock should recover next week.

I don't think they have done large scale mining behind govt back. Very stupid of them to do so if caught and I don't think they r that stupid. Without large scale mining approval, there is a limit on the amount of output they can mine. Moreover I think they approve to acquisite the nearby mine is to gain economic of scale. To even lower the unit cost of gold production and make even bigger profit.
Hope the meeting outcome is positive. Then this week can cheong thus counter all the way. |

The question to ask is is such stop work order a standard practice for evaluation of a large scale operation status application? Or such an order is issued now is a result of the discovery by the authorities that CNMC is already engaged in such large scale operation which presumably is the case.   Otherwise why the stop work order?   If CNMC is in compliance, evaluation can always be done while mining is ongoing!

Guess there are some urgly reasons for the order of " stop work" . If as annouced, it is to discus " requirements for large-scale operation status" , this will not lead to, and no need to stop current work. Something may be covered from our retailers...for example, environmental issue? In addtion, if they forcast the huge profit for large scale of mining, why do they approve the acquisition?   |

Nothing new in BT. SHARES of Catalist-listed CNMC Goldmine Holdings were among the most hotly traded on Friday, following the notification by the Kelantan State Lands and Mines Office for it to temporarily stop its operations at the Sokor gold field. The stock dipped to a day' s low of 36 Singapore cents in early trade and rose to a high of 45 Singapore cents. It finished 3.5 Singapore cents or nearly 8 per cent down at 42.5 Singapore cents on Friday with some 62 million shares worth S$25 million done. The temporary order for CNMC Goldmine to halt its operations came on July 19. It was made in connection with the state government' s review of the firm' s application to allow the mining of unlimited amounts of ore from Sokor. Together with its joint-venture partner in the project, the Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation, CNMC said it is working closely with the authorities to ensure that it meets all the requirements for large-scale operation status. Its board is of the opinion that the stop-work order should be lifted in due course. Together with its joint-venture partner in the project, the Kelantan State Economic Development Corporation, CNMC said it is working closely with the authorities to ensure that it meets all the requirements for large-scale operation status.

Of coures, price doesn' t move based on what we post here. I myself won' t be affected by what people here posted. But, there might be some who panic and sold based on what we post. No Stock will go up straight line. There will be retaces/pullback. Do you study any TA? Stop work order is fact. But, these are not, " uplift of stop work order could take months" " Cnmc i think got checked mate by the kelantan gov...its quite hillarious the reason given for the stop work order.."   " Maybe earlier they already verbally told them to stop work.."   " Since the share was drop even when gold price still ok Whatever it is ...its gameover to them"

Just like to remind everyone to trust your own opinion in regards to trading instead of relying on info feeds from forum. Some like to tread carefully and some believe that this company has great potential. Its is your duty to make sure you research carefully and make your choice.  |
