 Alert Admin 		Fund managers reallocating portfolio due to genS shift from msci global to mscl small cap. Had to wait till end nov then they done selling, there lot of support but selling together with shorting push it down.

  • We see meaningful uplift for Singapore tourism operational metrics arising from the China-Japan rift 
    • China is Singapore&rsquo s largest visitor source, accounting for c.20% of arrivals
    • Around  30% of the 1.44mn China-to-Japan trips  planned for the rest of the year have been cancelled following Beijing&rsquo s advisory to avoid travel to Japan
    • Substitution effects tend to favour short-haul, high-frequency markets like Singapore which has seen new bookings to Singapore rising c.15% in recent days
  • Key beneficiaries are likely to include: 
    • Far East Hospitality Trust (FEHT)  &ndash well-positioned with a mid-tier and upscale hotel portfolio spanning Orchard Rendezvous Hotel and Oasia Downtown
    • CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust (CICT)  &ndash landlord of ION Orchard, a prime beneficiary of incremental luxury and discretionary spending. Aditional uplift is also expected across its broader retail portfolio, including Plaza Singapura, Bugis+ and Raffles City, which attract high tourist traffic
    • Genting Singapore (GENS)  &ndash operator of Resorts World Sentosa, including Universal Studios Singapore, the Oceanarium, and on-site hotels that benefit from increased tourist footfall. However, upside may be limited by subdued margins and stiff competition from MBS

 Alert Admin 		Short selling is  52.51%.  This is just the slightly lower than the average of the last 300 trading days and 17% lower than the day before.  So actuallyl short selling is not increasing.

The elevated short-selling at > 50% daily has been going on for months so while some of it may be funds hedging their positions, it seems like there is indeed a strong push to get the stock down for some reason, despite the recovering earnings. Agreed as you said, lets see who has the last dance.

Will likely expect greater volatilty and spike in volume at closing today as GENS is being excluded from MSCI Global so would reasonably expect index and passive funds to adjust their portfolio - probably something that short-sellers have been positioning for.

The time frame to sell contra shares bought on T-day is within T+4. Long time ago it was T+7, then T+5 and now T+4, probably to minimise speculation. It's probably insane to contra shares due to the short time frame. But looking at the large volume of shares traded, just how many were real buyers
