right issues unlikely, SCI just gave a $3B loan recently, and share price shot up on thu for SMM after 4pm before it was halted..so chances quite low. Not sure why it took so long, first time i see it happening for blue chip..unless its something mega and they halted to prevent insiders from trading |

Why people talking about privatization of sci ? Not possible. Only sembmarine is the loss making entity and has the overlapping business with keppel offshore. So logically sembmarine should be taken private under temasek ' s direct arm and later merge with keppel offshore in October |

Few possibilities : (1) Issue right shares: asking money from shareholders again . (2) Privatisation by Temasek and delisted from SGX. (1) is high chance, (2) is quite unlikely as privatise 2 big companies right now will require a lot of cash but they will get a fantastic deal even with 40% premium at the last closing price. Good luck everyone ! I have both counters, ha ha.. : (

By close of business today they will make one of 2 announcements. Either the reason for trading halt (or) Suspension of stock pending whatever they are working on. Based on sgx rules the shares can remain halted for 3 days and today is day 3 | ||||

This is ridiculous. There should be some sort of rule stating that if a trading halt is called for, then the reason for it should be announced within a stipulated period of time eg. 24 or 48 hours. | ||||

At current price level, SCI is dirt cheap. Temasek will be quite evil to privatise at this level considering the high NTA. I think it' s definitely delisting of SCM around 20% premium to last trading price. Once SCI gets SCM off her back, she will be able to soar once again as a pure energy utilities defensive play. |
