Now that phone price lowered due to online b2c and coupons online like lazada $100 off plus the fact is that there isn't really a big advance in tech to make my current phone obsolete why should I sign a higher plan when my normal usage not so high? I am sure there are heavy users too. Those are the people they send the 500 vouchers to. x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	teleco market like many others is likely to be a bell curver distributions for talk time, data usage. so telco has priced plan accordingly. on the lower end,people who use very little talk time/data, will likely go no phone,low value plan, people on the other end of the curve who constantly phone on will go for the max no limit type of phone. bulk of us will be the $65 type.  but then look back 10 years ago what price were you paying ? one can expect 10 years later the money paid to telco is likely to go up in sync with inflation. we called this as natural hedge with inflation. the overall market has suffered as so called foreigner talents are leaving due to recession. price of m1 and some others has fallen more likely that some bigger shareholders are facing their own financial problems and selling down. not due to any major reasons of weakness of telco. my week end though only, you can form your own and investigate. have a good week end.

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	old news but i happen to read up so I share here: TPG very  aggressive even back home, starting price war with local telco and given the number of 5-6% to break even for singapore is not too hard. I guess they are most likely going to come in with a lower then market price (bear in mind we have been dropping price as seen recently) to create a window for customer to jump ship to the new telco. Many of us will rather pay less as long the service is not that bad. Setup time and cost for network used to to be higher 10 years ago but its faster and cheaper now. If the current telco dont patch this " hole" fast enough they will be bleeding customer base.
