I was probably the first one who converted all YSB to YFH within 2 weeks after the spin off. Most early long investors chose to hold both. It seems very wrong then on hindsight in 2023, and more so especially in 2024 when YSB had 3x to ~$3.30 while YFH had slumped to just ~$0.32. YFH was still reasonably profitable YOY and its balance sheet was consistently highly net cash, or in layman&rsquo s term Bomb Proof. At just ~0.3x NAV, I was convinced that it was a very deeply discounted rare gem waiting to be uncovered and I added a lot more between $0.31~0.37. YFH profit track was adversely derailed by the China property crisis, T Rowe Price dumped all its SSH shares, NPLs shot through the roof ... etc. VT had his strength and credential in asset management, but he was certainly not the right guy to run the show. However, VT did make some very positive and significant contribution to really enhance long term shareholder value through aggressive and substantial SBB at ultra deep discounts to NAV, this is an area where I feel the current management under RenYL has not done enough in the past 1 year to exploit the attractive arbitrage. Regardless, Boss RenYL taking back the driver seat was the turning point for YFH and the commencement of the China stimulus steroid in mid Sept 2024 provided the catalyst fuel. Today on hindsight with YSB being knocked back down to $2.22, and YFH at $0.895 and seems still climbing, the decision then for the full conversion seems not a bad one after ~3 years of patience, though holding on to both YSB and YFH from the onset with consistent buying would also reap very solid returns.   Many Long investors, such as @UncleBond, had already left the train during the $0.40~0.70 run up. Some exited even much earlier at below $0.40 for a 10~20% gain if they bought at $0.33~0.37. For those of you who are still onboard, let&rsquo s seat back and enjoy the wild uphill roller coaster ride. STI at > 4000 now is providing a very positive and bullish mood to boost all the running trains.
