Equally surprised by their strategy, or lack thereof. I was originally surprised by the proactiveness and transparency to disclose an amount (S$200m) reserved for their share buybacks which is rare for SGX-listed companies. This clarity has quickly turned into confusion by the on and off buybacks at various prices. Investors prefer a share buyback strategy that is sustained over a period of time to effectively signal to the market that their shares are undervalued. Vested. Averaged down at 0.425 with Macquarie as the counterparty.

Also not entirely sure what their buyback strategy is - they were buying consistently for a couple of days (similar to what YZJSB used to do previously) but stopped as the selling continued. Prob more insti selling as seen with T Rowe Price divesting 8.58M shares at 43c last Fri (as announced ytd) where they reduced their stake from 7.05% to 6.83%. | ||||

Contra buyers and margin buyers all got burnt badly while shortsellers taking their time to buyback. YZJFH is pure haven for shortsellers and management can only watch from sideline. Trade with personal thoughts and DYODD
