can you help me to undertsand why is $4.x? I was thinking since after 21-may, there is no more rights, then buying SIA shares from market should be the same as the right subscription (at $3). Why market should be priced higher than the price of right subsription? If the market is higher than I just subscribe at $3 then sell it at maket then take the profit. No?

Rights will stop trading tomorrow 5pm. My guess is once the selling pressure from the rights stops, the mother share will rebound back to $3.80-$4.00 easily.
As an investment or trading stock, it fits both the criteria. SIA is a strong buy at current level :) Those who are more bullish can track the DLC SG5X SIA A (DKKW.SI) |

he say want to short be careful, 7 may xr date alot shortist get burnt because they push the price to $5. lucky i closed my shorts before the xr date. ah kong dont even need to use their name to play, just tell the market makers which is an overseas investment bank what price to run can already.

The reason for the diff between SIA and SIA R is because of the luxury to continue to trade SIA beyond 22nd May to 7th June. If we feel that SIA price will go below $3 after tomorrow, don't even bother to buy SIA R tomorrow. We need to rem Temesak is an investor, only need to acc to govt and not to SIA or retail investors like us. As long as they can make their investment green end day (or cover for OA at 2.5%), they are considered job well done. Who knows they would have covered well their positions in SIA by now? Consider what would u do if u are making a loss with SIA shares, minus off the possibility to dispose off easily like retail investors like us... Just my personal opinion. | ||||

Unlikely to do anything. but i do try to help despite the many dislikes i get for posting on SIA haha.Forum: Proposed solution to help retail investors in SIA rights issueMuch ink has been spilt about Singapore Airlines' (SIA) rights issue and rights mandatory convertible bonds (MCBs) (SIA rights issue to strengthen balance sheet for future: CEO, May 15). Yet sadly for the everyday Singaporean investor, it has not been less confusing. Many of the investors are loyal customers of the airline as well as from the older generation who bought SIA shares as an extension of their trust of the Singapore Government. Watching as things unfold, however, I cannot help but feel that the average investor has been hung out to dry. For instance, for every 1,000 shares of SIA, an investor gets 2,950 rights MCBs. The investor has three options: One, subscribe to the MCBs. But this assumes the investor has deep pockets. Two, let the rights MCBs expire. Three, sell the rights MCBs in the open market during the eight-day trading window. But here comes the catch. For the third option, the brokerage fees to sell the rights MCBs currently exceed the sale price. This means investors have to pay money to sell the rights MCBs. In essence, the rights MCBs are actually a negative asset to the everyday investor. Next, in the event that the investor chooses the second option, what I would have expected to happen is that the rights to buy the MCBs expire and cease to exist. But Singapore investment firm Temasek, the main shareholder, has pledged to take up any remaining shares and bonds that are not subscribed (Passengers must adapt to different travel experience: SIA, May 16). The everyday investor cannot help but feel short-changed. A solution to this would be simple and render tremendous goodwill - that is, Temasek undertakes to buy the rights MCBs from shareholders at a nominal fee without having the investor go through a brokerage. if one can get same upside potential with the loan costing 4.84 per sia in 10 years. is it a better deal to take up the loan? lower price same upside exposure less any dividend sia pay in the next 10 years. global lock down exit happening. china almost back to normal. |

Your broker talk nonsense. U think this is medtec where selling of shares can forget to disclose for weeks. Even $17.90 transaction is disclosed. If Temasek do anything, it will be disclosed. Till now, no news.

i ' m keen to know also, but then who can really predict for sure right? i guess those looking to subscribe rights share will only do so as to lower their average entry price in hope that in long term, price wld recover. then again, will TH just sit idly by with ppl throwing off their rights due to plunging share price? logically they shd act to keep it floating ard $3-ish...?
