As such, future performance of Sembcorp Marines shares will do well conidering the merger that will bring forth more profits instead of fighting for a slice of the offshore marine businesses. I have bought some shares today in antcipation of an upward trend due to the proposed merger.

Instead, it wanted to skin alive SMM first and pass the fat meat to Keppel Corp. If the rights are under subscribed, Temasek will scoop all of them at $0.08 and make itself the largest shareholder that will trigger the takeover code. Will TH make a general offer when it triggers? Even if it   triggers, how much will TH offer? Like somebody here mentioned $0.30, that will be super premium. Is TH doing charity? On the other hand, if shareholders supported the rights, then TH will get free cash from them and feed Keppel Corp.  Finally, whether the new merged entity can turnaround is an unknown. If the new entity continues to under performed, then there is a possibility for TH to make a general offer to delist the new entity once and for all. Therefore, whichever scenario turns out, the biggest beneficiary is TH, followed by. Keppel Corp and SCI
