ST Engineering breaches S$10 to close at all-time high of S$10.11 4.1% surge follows raft of new product news The company&rsquo s announcements at the Singapore Airshow include a new hovercraft vessel, satellites and its biggest cargo drone [SINGAPORE] Shares of ST Engineering jumped as much as 4.5 per cent in intraday trading on Monday (Feb 9), climbing to a record high after the Singapore Airshow. The counter rose to a peak of S$10.15 at 2.05 pm before closing at S$10.11, a 4.1 per cent or S$0.40 increase from its closing price of S$9.71 on Feb 6. ST Engineering made multiple announcements at the recently concluded Singapore Airshow,  including the unveiling of the AirFish, a hovercraft-like vessel that skims over water and is set to start taking passengers from Singapore to Batam in the second half of 2026. The company also announced that it will  design and develop  new satellites in Singapore and debuted its  largest cargo drone. In addition, ST Engineering inked a pact with Shield AI at the show to integrate the defence technology company&rsquo s &ldquo Hivemind&rdquo autonomy software into its drone platforms. The collaboration aims to enable ST Engineering&rsquo s drones to operate autonomously in GPS-denied environments, where traditional communications are jammed or unavailable. The commercial aerospace business also entered agreements with Xiamen Airlines and Delta Air Lines for the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of their engines and aircraft. The division will also carry out a cabin modification programme for an Airbus A330 MRTT+ air-to-air refuelling and transport jet. In January, ST Engineering said its total contract awards for 2025  reached a record  of S$18.7 billion, exceeding the S$12.6 billion total in 2024 by about 49 per cent. This prompted RHB to  raise its target price  for the group to S$10.70 from S$9.40. ST Engineering earlier said that it expected to report a  positive net profit  for the second half of 2025, after considering all the one-off effects for the half-year period. For the nine months ended Sep 30, the group recorded a  9 per cent year-on-year increase in revenue to S$9.1 billion, its latest business update indicated. The improvements followed robust performances across its three business segments and a strong order book. It is set to release its financial results on Feb 27. |

ST Engineering signs MOU with Airbus for cabin modification and expands MRO agreement with Xiamen Airlines

Singapore Technologies Engineering&rsquo s (ST Engineering) commercial aerospace (CA) business has secured agreements with Airbus subsidiary Airbus Defence and Space and Xiamen Airlines. With Airbus, the group has entered into an memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the aviation manufacturer to carry out a cabin modification programme for an Airbus A330 Multi Role Tanker Transport Plus (A330 MRTT+) aircraft in support of the latter&rsquo s customer. The A330 MRTT+ is an evolution of the A330 MRTT aircraft used in combat situations for aerial refuelling and transport, which is in itself based on the commercial A33neo wide-body aircraft. The MOU sets forth the preliminary understanding between both companies regarding the provision of engineering design, certification and aircraft modification services for the cabin modification programme. Kevin Chow, Head of Aerostructures and Systems at ST Engineering says, &ldquo This A330 MRTT+ cabin modification marks the latest milestone in our longstanding partnership with Airbus, which includes passenger-to-freighter conversion through our joint venture in Germany.&rdquo With Xiamen Airlines, ST Engineering has commenced a multi-year engine maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) agreement with a Performance Restoration Shop Visit (PRSV) to support the airline&rsquo s CFM1 LEAP-1A engines. The group is Asia&rsquo s first premier MRO provider for CFM LEAP engines. Having achieved testing capabilities for the LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines, ST Engineering is currently gearing up to achieve PRSV capabilities for both LEAP engine types followed by full overhaul services to better support airlines&rsquo growing LEAP engine maintenance demands. Already, the group has a relationship with Xiamen Airlines spanning over 35 years, with ST Engineering assisting the airline with JT8D, CFM56-3 and CFM56‑ 7B engine shop visits. ST Engineering says that the expansion of this partnership to LEAP-1A PRSV services underscores its extensive and growing engine MRO solutions as well as its long-term support for airline customers as they undergo fleet modernisation with new-generation aircraft. Tang Jianqi, Deputy General Manager of Engineering & Maintenance at Xiamen Airlines says: &ldquo The success of ST Engineering in winning this highly competitive bidding project on the first round PRSV of Xiamen Airlines&rsquo LEAP-1A fleet fully demonstrates its comprehensive competence in the engine maintenance industry, including quality, service, and pricing.&rdquo &ldquo This new agreement with Xiamen Airlines is a testament to their strong confidence in our engine MRO capabilities, built on a robust track record of reliable and high-quality maintenance we have provided to their engine fleets over the years,&rdquo adds Tay Eng Guan, Head of Engine Services at ST Engineering. As at 4.48 pm, shares in ST Engineering are trading one cent lower at $9.94. |

ST Engineering&rsquo s hovercraft-like AirFish set to ply Singapore-Batam route from second half of 2026 ST Engineering will also work with operator Wings Over Water Ferries (WOW) to bring the service to India [SINGAPORE] The AirFish, a hovercraft-like vessel that skims over water, is set to start taking passengers from Singapore to Batam from the second half of 2026. Unveiling this at a ceremony on the first day of the Singapore Airshow on Tuesday (Feb 3), home-grown technology and engineering group ST Engineering said that ST Engineering AirX will enter a strategic partnership with ferry operator BatamFast to run this service. ST Engineering AirX is a joint venture between the group and Singapore-based start-up Peluca. BatamFast currently operates 18 trips from Singapore to Batam in Indonesia each day. Operations between Singapore and Batam are expected to start in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, said ST Engineering. It added that ST Engineering AirX and BatamFast will also explore opportunities to expand into new destinations across South-east Asia. ST Engineering added that it will also work with operator Wings Over Water Ferries (WOW) to bring the service to India. WOW will lease and operate up to four AirFish craft, beginning in late 2026, with the start of operations subject to route approvals by local authorities. The AirFish Voyager, designed to carry eight passengers and two crew, will be deployed on these routes. It is currently being assembled in Singapore. Measuring 17m long and 15m wide, this wing-in-ground or waterborne craft operates on the principle of ground effect to skim above the water&rsquo s surface. Ground effect improves the lifting characteristics of an aircraft&rsquo s wing when it is near the ground. Air beneath a wing is compressed when it is close to the ground, creating a cushioning effect. The AirFish Voyager can skim above the waves at 100 knots, which is significantly faster than typical seagoing fast ferries that tend to travel at 30 knots. It can cover distances of up to 300 nautical miles. Since 2024, ST Engineering AirX has been partnering Bureau Veritas, a testing, inspection and certification provider, on the classification and certification of the AirFish craft. It is expected to be certified by mid-2026.  |

RHB lifts ST Engineering target price to S$10.70 on record contract wins
The group&rsquo s total contract awards for 2025 stand at S$18.7 billion

[SINGAPORE] RHB Bank maintained its &ldquo buy&rdquo call on ST Engineering while raising its target price to S$10.70 from S$9.40, it said in a note on Thursday (Jan 29).

The revised target price represents a potential 13 per cent upside from current trading levels of S$9.48 as at the time of the report.

&ldquo Our positive view is braced by record 2025 contract wins, improving balance sheet post divestments, and upside from international defence amid supportive geopolitical backdrops and sustained defence and public security momentum,&rdquo said analyst Shekhar Jaiswal.

Record contract wins
The bullish re-rating follows the group&rsquo s announcement on Wednesday regarding its order book performance. The group&rsquo s total contract awards for 2025 amounted to a record S$18.7 billion, after having secured S$4.7 billion in new contracts for the fourth quarter of 2025.

This represented a roughly 49 per cent year-on-year increase from the S$12.6 billion recorded in 2024.

Key highlights from the contract wins include:

Defence and public security: Leading the pack with S$2.5 billion in wins (47 per cent year-on-year increase), including contracts for Ministry of Defence&rsquo s next-generation infantry fighting vehicle programme and security systems for the Singapore Prison Service.
Commercial aerospace: Secured S$1.7 billion in new contracts, driven by multi-year airline maintenance, repair and overhaul agreements, including a five-year nacelle support deal for LOT Polish Airlines.
Urban solutions and satcom: Contributed about S$500 million, with wins in mobility and transport infrastructure such as the Changi Airport Terminal 2 Skytrain electronics and 250 electric buses for the Land Transport Authority.
RHB noted that the defence and public security segment has now delivered five consecutive quarters of year-on-year growth in order wins, supported by a favourable geopolitical backdrop.

&ldquo The macro backdrop is also turning more supportive for international defence: Rapid technology innovation, heightened geopolitical tensions and sharper focus on supply chain resilience are accelerating procurement cycles, lifting defence budgets and increasing localisation requirements,&rdquo said the analyst.

Upcoming financial results
ST Engineering is scheduled to report its results for the second half and full year of 2025 on Feb 27.

RHB forecasts a strong showing, expecting H2 recurring net earnings to come in at about S$430 million &ndash a 17 per cent year-on-year increase, aided by improved margins in the commercial aerospace sector.

ST Engineering books record S$18.7 billion in contract wins for FY2025
This is a 49% increase from the S$12.6 billion recorded in 2024

[SINGAPORE] Singapore Technologies Engineering&rsquo s ( ST Engineering   : S63 +0.42%) total contract awards for 2025 reached a record S$18.7 billion, exceeding the S$12.6 billion total in 2024 by about 49 per cent, the group announced on Wednesday (Jan 28).

The full-year tally was lifted by about S$4.7 billion in new contracts secured during the fourth quarter.

The contract wins were distributed across the group&rsquo s three main business clusters.

The defence and public security segment accounted for the largest share of the quarterly wins at S$2.5 billion.

The commercial aerospace segment secured S$1.7 billion in new contracts.

Maintenance, repair and overhaul: Agreements included a five-year nacelle maintenance contract for LOT Polish Airlines&rsquo Boeing 787 fleet and a similar contract for another European airline. The group also signed a multi-year airframe maintenance agreement with a North American airline.
Aerostructures and systems: The group reported orders for engine nacelles and composite floor panels, citing increased new aircraft production.
The urban solutions and satcom segment recorded about S$500 million in contracts.
