(&ldquo 南 京 中 车 浦 镇 城 轨 车 辆 有 限 责 任 公 司 &rdquo ) (&ldquo NPRT&rdquo ) has secured three metro train car supply contracts worth RMB2.68 billion in the People&rsquo s Republic of China (&ldquo China&rdquo or the &ldquo PRC&rdquo ). Midas has a 32.5% equity stake in NPRT, a Sino-foreign joint venture, engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of metro trains, bogies and their related parts. The first supply contract, worth approximately RMB1.15 billion, was awarded by MTR Technology Consultation (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. (港 铁 技 术 咨 询 （ 深 圳 ） 有 限 公 司 ) for the Shenzhen Line 4 Phase 3 Project (深 圳 4 号 线 三 期 项 目 ), with delivery scheduled between February 2019 and September 2020. The second and third supply contracts were jointly awarded by Hangzhou Metro Group Co., Ltd. (杭 州 市 地 铁 集 团 有 限 责 任 公 司 ) and Hangzhou Hangfu Rail Transit Co., Ltd. (杭 州 杭 富 轨 道 交 通 有 限 公 司 ) for the Hangzhou Metro Line 6 Phase 1 Project (杭 州 地 铁 6 号 线 一 期 工 程 电 动 客 车 招 标 项 目 ) worth approximately RMB1.09 billion, as well as the Hangzhou-Fuyang Inter-city Metro Project (杭 州 至 富 阳 城 际 铁 路 工 程 电 动 客 车 招 标 项 目 ) worth approximately RMB0.44 billion. Deliveries for both contracts are scheduled between September 2018 and August 2019. Mr. Patrick Chew (周 华 光 ), Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of Midas, said, &ldquo NPRT has made a strong start to 2018 with these contract wins in the cities of Hangzhou, Zhejiang province and Shenzhen, Guangdong province. With China&rsquo s continued expansion of its domestic rail network to cater to cities with growing urbanisation and rising populations, we are confident that NPRT will continue to leverage its established track record and strengthen its market position in China&rsquo s rail industry.&rdquo The contracts are expected to contribute positively to the Group&rsquo s financial performance for the financial years ending December 31, 2018 and 2020. Separately, China Railway Corporation, the PRC&rsquo s national railway operator, yesterday (January 2, 2018) announced that China met its annual railway investment target of RMB801 billion in 2017 and is targeting RMB732 billion of fixed asset investment on railways in 2018. It is aiming to build 4,000 km of new rail lines this year, of which 3,500 km will be high-speed railways1 . The country&rsquo s railway network is expected to expand to 175,000 km by 2025, of which 38,000 km will be highspeed railways.
