after some time the merger and then issue rights. coz big muscles need more food. food come from where. food come from punters like me and you lo....

SINGAPORE - Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) will spend about S$2.47 billion to buy a 21 per cent stake in Thailand's Intouch Holdings PCL and a further 7.39 per cent stake in Bharti Telecom (BTL) from Temasek Holdings for S$2.47 billion in cash. : : Singtel's latest investments will be funded through internal cash, short-term debt and proceeds from a share placement of 386 million new Singtel shares to Temasek totalling S$1.605 billion. |

If one takes out the company name and let' s say is company ABC, the deal is post acquisition NAV drops and debt goes up....i think most investors stay away. Even if Temasek' s involvement no bao jiak...remember micropolis, hyflux, etc..dyodd. | ||||

With mega merger the risk is good execution. If the execution is good and all plans come to fruition, then this stock may perform in the long term. With dilution post acquisition and also share issuance below NAV, don' t think much upside in the short to medium term - think likely to trade sideway for quite a while. | ||||

What is baffling is that before the Ascendas annnouncement, people were buying at 3.05 and holding till above 3.20 for profit, some already taken profit etc. Now, from some comments, you would think that this deal (which not yet even confirm), already cause the price to gap down 10%. Definitely in the coming time it will go up or down according to market sentiments but why suddenly this announcement makes it a lousy stock? Then might as well no need to wait for quarter results, or dividends or anything mah. Since so sure its a condemn case already. |
