The other business divisions used to make a lot of profits. But I suspect they absorbed a lot of the costs from the dairy division due to opaque transfer pricing. This jacks up the profits of the dairy division. This helps to boost the profit of the dairy division. |

This is because on XD date, the contra trade will show a loss of 30 cents per share, assuming it drops by 30 cents. The contra player may not have money to top up. Must wait tillmonth end for the dividend money to come in. So major shareholders is doing this to force players to exit. Today a major shareholder just announced he sold 1.2 million shares. It is the same thinking behind to induce sellers. I can tell you from personal trades that 445 was very well supported last few days. Whatever sold was FULLY ABSORBED!

Thoese transfer pricing related business units been sold to Asahi, i.e. General Packaging and Etika Dairies. I dont think that would cause much impact in coming quarters. To me, 30sen dividend payout from the deal of Asahi is something rewarding. Indeed, the company values are truely relected at current market price of 45sen. Its much depending on how the management is going to grow their remaining business from now onwards. Personally, i would say the balance of 15sen is something about trust or confidence towards the company rather that the values of remaining assets. If the management are somehow dishonest, the value of assets can just mean nothing! |

When a company has many different biz units, there are a lot of transfer pricing. After they sold off the diary biz, you should see the impact of transfer pricings on the other units in the next quarter.

think they have ben concentrating on the diary business so far, with the Indo and Viet acquistions Now that it is off the table, they shd have more time on the rest of the business, namely the noodles and NZ business sd hopefully turn ard and then expand the frozen and bread business under the guidance of Sam G. They sd be more synergy between TYJ and the frozen/Bread Biz. Wondering if they retain any of the auxilliary diary business

Asahi would not see the REAL truth of the dairy business as Asahi will have its own cost structure. But it is likely to see LESS profits than when under Etika. |
