Singapore-listed Global Invacom, which provides satellite communications equipment, is acquiring the assets and intellectual property (IP) of Germany-based Apexsat for 250,000 euros ($280,791), according to a media statement.

 

Apexsat specialises in the design and manufacture of steerable earth station solutions and motorised and transportable antenna systems.

 

Global Invacom intends to pay for the acquisition in cash. After the completion of the acquisition, the company could also manufacture products for the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) satellite communication constellations market and SATCOM On The Pause (STOP) tracking two ways systems.

 

Apexsat will be integrated into Global Invacom&rsquo s existing antenna manufacturing subsidiary located in Accrington, UK. The acquisition is also expected to contribute to the company&rsquo s financial performance in the first full year of ownership.

 

Global Invacom has six manufacturing plants across China, Israel, Malaysia, UK and the US. Its customers include satellite broadcasters such as the UK-based BskyB and US-based Dish Network, as well as data over satellite providers such as Hughes Network Systems, Viasat and Gilat Satellite Networks.
