RHB ' overweight' on Singapore property sectorReal estate developers are trading at deep discounts to their book values and revalued net asset values The research team' s top pick is still CapitaLand, with a target price of S$3.75, given the property giant' s globally diversified portfolio, stable real estate investment trusts and a growing recurring income base from its fund management platform. this one very strange. left look right look also worth a lot more. maybe this one too big and heavy to go up. how about distributing some of subsidiary to shareholders to realise the value.

Properties and Banks are always the hardest hit during a downturn. Capland Book Value is $4+. It' s indeed a good price to get. It may go down from here (who knows) but if your view is long term, in a year or so, you would be happy. This counter is like that for the past few years already. When it gets close to $4 it will U-turn. Haha. It is right now hammered because of the recent downward revaluations of its CMT/CCT assets (not real loss in my view just paper loss). It will come back once economy turns around. Banks/Properties always lead the way, if history is anything to go by. Just my opinion. DYODD. |

I think I should start by saying Capitaland at this price is a good buy, What you just described, will eventually lead to the Prisoner' s Dilemma. A quick google search, interestingly, shows a result from investopedia first  http://www.google.com/search?q=prisoner%27s+dilemma

Correction**:    When there is less** volume to Sell, the stock price have better chance to ramp up. From now on I will make it a point to ~place an order ~ as much as possible to avoid the same being used. I wont lose anything. I am quite new in the marketplace but am vested substantial amount of shares since April. Impact maybe small if I am doing this alone but I hope many others will follow...

If you' re a BB, you can play the market both directions. Dump stock to trigger stop-loss orders, buy back in for cheap. Works regardless if it is a short-sell or not. But you' re right about sentiment of the day I guess.

The market shoud be corrected by itself, owing to the balance of supply and demand, not by short trades. Well the direction can go either way but I believe short trades are well coordinated by a group of ppl and dependant on the ' sentiment' of the day. This will increase their chance of success. The access to available stocks give BB additional leverage to trade using assets they dont own..... hence this is the point I wanted highlight to retail investors. When there is volume to Sell, the stock price have better chance to ramp up.

Well, this is only partially true. I don' t know much about how the market works in general, but shorts help to correct the market as well. i.e. if they are right to be bearish of the stock, they earn money. If they misjudge market sentiment, they will be forced to buy in, which pushes the price up further.  If you are taking a long position (month, year, decade), lets say on a dividend stock like netlink trust, the price movement doesn' t trouble you much. This makes a 5% dividend yield + (0.5% - 2% loan interest)  actually pretty attractive for passive investing.

So, if anyone has shares held in Custodian account - be active in ~placing your Sell Order ~ so that others cannot borrow your available shares Remember, when funds have a large stock in hand - they can do wonders to influence the market direction.. Hope this makes sense.

No wonder SG shares cannot ramp up. UBS already highlighted SG shares are under-valued but did not highlight there are efforts by BB to sell down to make some profits Lending the shares will earn only 0.5% I guess, but the loss in value could be 5% to 12% Doesn' t make sense for any investors.

You can choose to lend your shares out via:  http://www1.cdp.sgx.com/sgx-cdp-web/lendingpool/show?lang=en This will help you earn some extra money from a long position. This is an opt-in program, which is not active unless you apply.

I guess not for those already deposited in CDP. But there are other trading houses/ omline trading platforms who offer to hold your shares, they charge a smaller fee hence have attracted many. The act of short trades alway oppose the growth of shares prices as the company progress. It is impt for investors to realise this, hope I am not totally wrong...

A lot of speculation that short traders gain by selling and buying low few days later. Many new investors are not aware that their shares are being &lsquo borrowed&rsquo by banks and funds for short trades. Trading house do not encourage their clients on such practice but they are doing it themselves Investors must wake up and realize that short trades having been robbing the growth of stock prices. HOW TO PREVENT YOUR SHARE BEING BORROWED FOR SHORT TRADES I read this in US exchange Investors will regularly place the shares (already bought) at much higher than ASK and BID price. There is no real intention to sell. When these shares are already &lsquo placed&rsquo &ndash they cannot be used or manipulated by others for short trades Let all learn about this and cooperate so that we can enjoy the price appreciation we deserve. |

CapitaLand(C31.SI) reversed nicely yesterday, right now price is testing a key support level at 2.70 and we could be seeing a pullback here. Overall view is still bearish for me and 2.60 would be a key support level to watch. A break below the 2.70 level triggers a further drop. What is your view on it? In terms of DLC, we can consider DLC SG5xShort CapLand(DKFW.SI) with the levels attached : entry 0.106, stop loss 0.095, take profit 0.119. Cheers!  |

CapitaLand(C31.SI) reached both our TP targets as well. Currently price is testing a key support level at 2.71, we could be seeing a pullback to test the descending trend line again, currently I am waiting to see how prices play out here. 2.94 is a key resistance level for me. What are your thoughts on them?
