Bro spore, I checked the charts. ETH was at $4958 in Aug 2025. During that same period, BMNR was at $57 thereabout. Youtubers believe ETH will be at $5000 to $6000 by Dec 2026/Jan 2027. Meaning we can look forward to BMNR returning to $57 to $77 by Dec26/Jan27. BMNR is at $23 thereabout now. If $57 to $77, upside is 2.67x to 3.34x. Every $1k invested will become $2670 to $3340. I havent added yet. Still waiting. The late Charlie Munger said ...." The big money is in the waiting" . So I' ll wait.  |

Why US Fed is mindful of keeping inflation in check is becoz rising inflation if left alone, will eventually cause a recession. When prices rise, what do people do? They buy less of what they need. Or they buy less of other stuffs or even stop buying those other stuffs altogether so that they can buy the stuffs they need. If prices rise even further, discretionary spending is the first to be cut. So that their paycheck can ensure water and power and food and transportation are available. In other words, higher prices lead to demand destruction of essential items as well as discretionary items. If one cannot afford it becoz of rising prices, one will stop going to the movies, or replace your mobile phone or laptop with a new model but will make do and continue using what you already have, stop eating out, stop going on vacations etc. This demand destruction will be felt by retailers in the form of much lower sales. As a result, retailers either don' t see the need to restock their inventories or they order much lower quantities when they restock. This will in turn be felt by manufacturers who then scale down their production to make less units. This invariably results in manufacturers facing immediate excess capacities. To keep the business profitable, manufacturers are forced to cut cost by laying off excess workers. Becoz manufacturers are producing less, they also order less raw materials from suppliers as well as less parts from their OEMs (Original Equipment Maker). This has a spillover effect on the operations and capacities of suppliers and OEMs who may also have to lay off staffs. When this happens in almost every sector of the economy, we get a recession. A recession means mass layoffs of workers and rising unemployment. Everyone gets hurt.  That' s why Kevin Warsh and his Board of Governors cannot do nothing if inflation keeps creeping up. When Jerome Powell was Fed Chair, he initially dismissed inflation as transitory. Which turned out to be wrong. To stop falling behind the curve, Jerome had to fight inflation aggressively by increasing interest rate by a hefty 0.75% on 4 consecutive occasions. I am sure Kevin Warsh and his team are very mindful not to have a repeat of that fiasco.  Demand is how capital markets allocate scarce and limited resources. Everything has a price. The market price is at where the same number of buyers are willing to pay the price of the same number of sellers. When prices rise, invariably some buyers will give up and stop chasing the price. If prices rise even further, more buyers will give up and stop wanting that item. Demand is therefore destroyed. Let' s take our Cat A COE as an illustration. If including the COE, the price of a new car cost $100k, demand will still be strong. I would have  been one of the buyers. But if inclusive of COE, a new car cost $200k, some new car hopefuls will give up. If the price rises further to $250k, even more hopefuls will give up. For now, I cannot imagine the price of a new car inclusive of COE costing $300k. For now, I cannot imagine demand will still be there to push up the price of a Cat A COE so high that the price tag can reach $300k for a new car. Just cannot imagine it. And so my conclusion is no matter how badly you want or need a car, you will give up and make do without a car at some point between $200k and $299k. I dont think we will ever see $300k for a Cat A car.  By the way, I gave up driving since Mar 2025. It has been 1 year and 6 months now. I did notice that at my car park downstairs which is an open car park visible from my flat, there are noticeably fewer cars compared to when I was still driving. And I know of at least one other person in my block who also gave up driving when her COE expired more than a year ago. There is a limit to how much people are willing to pay to own a new car. At $100k inclusive of COE, demand is strong. At $200k, demand will slow down considerably. At $300k, this one, I cannot imagine.    |

Not just inflation. Also because Bessant' s plan to plug the leaks for weakening yen and treasury bonds are collasping. Global risk free rates are being driven higher as a result independently of inflation expectations, and these issues are probably even more difficult to rectify.

I am in the west. You cant see it in the picture but it is getting more hazy and visibility has dropped somewhat. The haze is more obvious in the picture when looking at a distant object as shown by the arrow in red. What is very obvious today (yesterday dont have) is there is a strong burnt smell in the air forcing me to close my windows. .

Like I said earlier, I am hoping to see $15 to $17. Or if it becomes clearer that that correction is not happening. Then whatever is the low, I am willing to nibble. But you see, the road ahead is anything but clear. Fri is Job data. Next Fri is CPI data. Then 15 to 16 Sep is FOMC Meeting. Timeline-wise, too early to frontrun and roll the dice. So I wait on lor.

At $22.98, I am not tempted to take a bite leh. I had orders at 25.09....23.90 and 23.50.....all of which would have been filled had I not withdrawn them, And I would wish I had waited.  So I am glad I withdrew those BUY orders. Say she goes down to 20.00. At this level, I am still not tempted to bite her. But that' s me.

List out all the stocks which you have identified as good stocks. Then look at each stock and ask yourself - trap or opportunity? A stock may be a good stock but if the price is too high, it is a trap. Only if that good stock is trading at an attractive price that it is an opportunity. When stocks have run up a lot and then market hits a speed bump, most good stocks are a trap. They need to pull back first before they become an opportunity.  Use this method to sieve out the traps from the opportunities.  Buy opportunities. Ignore traps. Dont buy all at one go. Buy the least for your 1st tranche. Increase your quantity progressively for subsequent tranches. Buy less when the price is higher. Buy more at lower prices. That way, your average price will be nearer the bottom.  |
