One brokerage house cut TP. Cut both earnings and also using lower PE ratio. Revised TP still higher than current price though. So now the various brokerage houses start to cut the target PE ratio for the various local sectors. Starting with electronics, then construction and now marine sector. |

CGSI sees buying opportunity for Marco Polo Marine After Mainboard-listed Marco Polo Marine (MPM) provided a business update for 3QFY2026, CGS International (CGSI) analysts Meghana Kande and Lim Siew Kee are retaining their &ldquo add&rdquo rating at unchanged target price of 21 cents for the counter. Hovering around the 13 cents mark since late-June, Kande and Lim see the recent share price weakness as a buying opportunity. For 3QFY2026 ended June 30, MPM reported y-o-y revenue growth of 13% to $35.7 million, lifting 9MFY2026 revenue by 30% y-o-y to $109.7 million. Gross profit for the quarter and nine months respectively was up 7% y-o-y to $15 million and 30% y-o-y to $46.4 million. The shipyard&rsquo s results are in line with the analysts&rsquo expectations. After doing due diligence checks with marine industry players, Kande and Lim note that interest in newbuild vessels remains &ldquo active&rdquo . They believe MPM is well-positioned to secure newbuild opportunities once vessel owners gain more clarity on navigating geopolitical uncertainty and are willing to commit capex. On MPM&rsquo s recent agreement with Siemen&rsquo s Gamesa, Kande and Lim believe the deal highlights long-term demand for its offshore wind vessels. They see MPM as beneficiary of potential tailwinds from elevated energy security concerns globally and &ldquo buoyant&rdquo offshore activity. MPM&rsquo s exposure to both oil and gas and offshore wind sectors provides diversification, while its yard capacity positions it well to capitalise on vessel repair and replacement demand. Kande and Lim project core net profit to grow 30% y-o-y for FY2026 in their Aug 19 report. Due to stronger earnings growth versus its peers, they value MPM at 21 cents, which is 19 times FY2027 forward P/E versus 11 times of peers. As at around 10.25 am on Aug 20, shares in Marco Polo Marine are down 0.2 cents or 1.5%, to 13.1 cents. |

Marco Polo Marine 3QFY2026 revenue up 13% y-o-y to $35.7 million For 3QFY2026 ended June 30, Mainboard-listed Marco Polo Marine (MPM) reported y-o-y revenue growth of 13% to $35.7 million, lifting 9MFY2026 revenue by 30% y-o-y to $109.7 million. Gross profit for the quarter and nine months respectively was up 7% y-o-y to $15 million and 30% y-o-y to $46.4 million. Gross margin dipped slightly to 42% from the 44% in 3QFY2025, while maintaining steady at 42% for the nine months. MPM enjoyed stronger performances from its two business segments. Ship chartering revenue grew 8% y-o-y to $24 million, with nine months revenue rising to $68.3 million, up 26% y-o-y. The stronger performance was attributed to fleet expansion, with new deployments including the commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) MP Wind Archer, and three crew transfer vessels. Fleet utilisation also improved to around 72% in 3QFY2026, up 71% y-o-y and 65% q-o-q, reflecting &ldquo steady&rdquo demand across the offshore wind and oil and gas markets. Meanwhile, quarterly revenue for shipbuilding and ship repair grew 23% to $11.7 million, lifting nine months revenue by 37% y-o-y to $41.4 million. The better performance was mainly due to more ship repair projects that were undertaken following the addition of a new dry dock. MPM CEO Sean Lee says that the third-quarter was one of &ldquo consistent&rdquo execution, with expected contributions from the expanded fleet and new dry dock. He adds: &ldquo The framework agreement we signed with Siemens Gamesa in July is a meaningful endorsement of our vessels and our operating capabilities, and it gives us a multi-year demand pipeline for our CSOVs ahead of their delivery. With the CSOV Plus under construction and a third unit in planning, we are building the fleet that Asia&rsquo s offshore wind market will need. We remain prudently optimistic on the outlook for the remainder of FY2026 and beyond.&rdquo Shares in MPM are trading at around 13 cents as at 11.04 am on Aug 18, down four cents or 21%. |

Marco Polo Marine' s two IPOs were not about the parent company " selling off" assets, but rather about repackaging its assets in a more valuable way and raising funds for expansion in better markets. Existing shareholders not only did not have their assets diluted, but also benefited from increased valuations, higher net asset value per share, and potential future dividends or bonus shares.

Major brokerages (such as UOB Kay Hian and Malayan Securities) maintained their " buy" target price of around S$0.24 in their reports at the end of June, indicating that their long-term stories of wind power fleet expansion and shipbuilding orders have not broken down. The current &rdquo continuous decline&rdquo is more of a phased adjustment as the market digests the shares issued in March, clears out profits from low-position positions in the early stage, and reprices expectations for the year-end spin-off and restructuring.

RHB keeps Marco Polo Marine at &lsquo buy&rsquo with 21 cents target In a July 16 report, RHB analyst Alfie Yeo is keeping Marco Polo Marine (MPM) on his &lsquo buy&rsquo list with unchanged target valuation of 21 cents. On the back of the firm&rsquo s &ldquo accelerating&rdquo growth outlook, driven by growing fleet size and higher capacity at its shipyard and framework agreements for new contracts with Siemens Gamesa, RHB believes &ldquo buoyant&rdquo charter contracts and higher shipyard revenue for MPM, forecasting FY2025-2028 earnings CAGR to be 22%. Yeo notes that plans to increase Taiwan subsidiary PKR Offshore&rsquo s (PKRO) fleet are in progress. Currently, PKRO owns and MPM&rsquo s sole commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV), MP Wind Archer, which has been deployed since April 2025 in Taiwan. MPM is currently constructing at its Batam shipyard a CSOV+ scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2028 to PKRO. MPM has also planned for a third CSOV to be added to its fleet. Together, the CSOVs will complement MPM&rsquo s deployment of crew transfer vessels (CTVs) across Taiwan and the region. RHB expects MPM&rsquo s growth in FY2026 to be supported by a full 12-month contribution from both its newly deployed vessels. The new fourth dry dock, which turned operational in August last year, should also support revenue growth as MPM will be able to take on more ship repair jobs. RHB says that its estimates are unchanged, as the new agreement with Siemens Gamasa was factored into its previously anticipated revenue and earnings growth estimates. Based on forecasted P/E of 17 times and 2% yield, RHB values MPM at 21 cents. As at around 9.50 am on July 17, MPM is trading at 12.7 cents, down 0.2 cents or 1.6%. |

MPM and NC falls exactly at the same rate from their respective peak. MPM from 197 to 126, 64% decline. NC from 165 to 105, exactly same 64% decline. Like abang adek. What?s coming ahead? Will they fall hand in hand further? Always prepare bullets in hand to scoop more at the better time. Cheers.
