HK people and police are fighting pitched street battles - it is so sad to see them come to this state. While they bleed blood in HK, the rest of Asia sees and cries for them. I have friends living in Shatin and am so worried for them as there is fighting there. It is now like a war torn country. | ||||

You cant have a greater bay development area without HK. HK is central to the integration plans and the government will stop this riots at all cost. Hongkong land is not just HK but rest of SOuth east asia along with China. Massive profits for them coming in. Rioting situation has been mitigated by management extending the WALE of thier HK portfolio beyond 4 years!

On Hong Kong Land - Frankly, Hong Kong is likely falling into an Abyss and anything with the name Hong Kong on it is likely to be shunned. The anarchy wounds and hurt festering there is headed to dangerous levels - can you imagine civilised humans pouring flammable liquids and setting strangers on fire? And Policemen cheering that they are celebrating that a young man has died after falling from the Carpark. This is like a scene out of The Purge. The next move by the HK and Central Government can only be disastrous. Can you imagine if they break into the Universities and start shooting and rounding up people? If I was a parent and my son was beaten up and tear-gassed, I would be extremely livid with anger too, and can only be on the side of my son. No matter rich or poor, blood is thicker than water or even money. Therefore there can only be a calamitous situation in Hong Kong. And this will surely last for years and years. | ||||

PRC will flood into HK and HK folk will have to move out to PRC - some trade off. This is what the protestors are fighting to prevent. But they will lose and it will end with deeper horrible bloodshed. Sad.

This will have to change and its already starting with the masterplan for the integration of the greater bay area between HK, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. With new infrastructure to be built over the next 10 years, transiting around between these 3 cities will take less than an hour and will open opportunites for HK residents to live and work in these cities without feeling uprooted from their original place of residence

It is down to the greed of individual Hong Kong policy makers, developers, contractors, agents and existing home owners in Hong Kong who perpetuate the system and upward spiral, to see housing prices in Hong Kong continue to soar. Every vote they make and every comment on social media, everytime they entertain lobbyists who want to keep country park land intact - contributes to the system and vicious cycle. I am thankful for our HDB system. Every Singapore citizen will have the right to comfortale, sizeable and decent housing. It is just a matter of where you choose to live in which HDB estate. |

90% of HK land development project is outside Hongkong and riots there do not affect it. Sure, HK can crash and burn, that doesnt mean tenants can default on their rent. 85% of HK land tenants are blue chip companies from the mainland and international MNC. The protest will not last and the HK government will eventally use the ordinance law to bolster their manpower to retain law and order
