CLSA initiates &lsquo high-conviction outperform&rsquo rating on Addvalue with TP of 27 cents CLSA&rsquo s Mahir Murtaza has initiated a &ldquo high-conviction outperform&rdquo rating on Addvalue with a target price of 27 cents. &ldquo Addvalue has made an impressive turnaround after being put on the SGX (Singapore Exchange) watchlist and then exiting it in October 2025,&rdquo says Murtaza in his Aug 26 report. The Mainboard-listed company operates two businesses: space connectivity (SPC), which provides commercially-available, round-the-clock connectivity solutions for low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites and advanced digital radio (ADR), which provides radiofrequency (RF) sensing and processing technology that&rsquo s used in counter-drone applications. &ldquo We believe the market values the company largely on initial hardware sales and gives limited value to the recurring economics that follow, namely airtime, replacement demand and repeat production orders,&rdquo the analyst notes. Across its businesses, Murtaza sees future revenue opportunities through Addvalue&rsquo s inter-satellite data relay service (IDRS) services, where each IDRS terminal installed onto a LEO satellite expands the group&rsquo s topline base through airtime consumption and eventual replacement demand. &ldquo As the installed base grows, recurring revenue should account for an increasing share of earnings, improving both visibility and quality,&rdquo he adds. Addvalue&rsquo s ADR business will also benefit from counter-drone spending turning into a long-term defence priority. &ldquo ADRS1000 provides the RF sensing and processing layer used to detect, classify and track drones before they can be jammed or intercepted,&rdquo says the analyst. &ldquo Importantly, once designed into a defence platform, qualification requirements, software integration and testing create meaningful switching costs, making future revenue increasingly dependent on repeat production rather than new customer acquisition,&rdquo he adds. From FY2027 to FY2031, the analyst has forecast revenue compound annual growth rates (CAGRs) of around 20% for both the SPC and ADR businesses from the recurring space-connectivity platform and design-in-defence-RF business. &ldquo As the recurring revenue profile becomes clearer, we see meaningful re-rating potential. SPC&rsquo s proposed Nasdaq listing should further sharpen that catalyst by allowing the business to be benchmarked directly agaginst global space-infrastructure peers,&rdquo says Murtaza. Addvalue, on Aug 19, said it will hold its extraordinary general meeting (EGM) to discuss its Nasdaq spin-off on or before Sept 25. CEO Tan Khai Pang told The Edge Singapore in a June interview, that the spin-off was first floated around a year ago when its US customers were growing rapidly. A spin-off, he added, would position IDRS as a pure-play global space infrastructure company. In addition, a Nasdaq listing would place the business closer to the world&rsquo s deepest pool of space and technology investors, many of whom are more familiar with valuing companies based on platform potential, installed base, recurring revenues and strategic relevance to the space economy. Murtaza&rsquo s estimates value the SPC business at 18.6 times NTM (next twelve months) ev/revenue and ADR at eight times its NTM ev/revenue using a sum-of-the-parts (SOTP) framework. Downside risks include slower-than-expected customer launches, product launches threatening the substiation of IDRS and a lack of repeat ADR orders. As at 4.23pm, shares in Addvalue are trading 0.6 cents higher or 4.03% up at 15.5 cents. |
