At first, I post my opinion is for sharing, not for believing, agree or not up to individual. I am not holding oil stock but just playing swing play after massive short selling. In my opinion, oil price will stay 70 to 80 minimum 6 month time. but will not clash below 65. Short seller has to cover in next week after selling, oil counter recovering can be expected in next week but not worth for holding since they have to face margin cut, debt payment and etc in next 6 month to 1 year.

Dear Earlybird14, I can no longer believe your words as you have conflicting interest & holding many oil stocks. Furthermore, you are just an onlooker in NOL. You can slowly wait for oil price recover, as oil price will not recover. I will update oil price tonight. Shipping stock (NOL) vs your Oil stocks does not coexist.

If NOL management is smart enough, they shall lock in their bunkering oil as per present price for at least 6 month supply. No realistic to expect oil price to drop down further after oil monster(usa) economic is recovering and may boom in 2015. Last crash in 2008 bring oil price to 40 and up within 3 month back to 70 above. So, current price is very good to lock in for hedging future higher oil price.

Oil price won' t hit below 60, may be not even 65 after last crash. Oil price will go up and maintain 70 to 75 next week. Buyers will start to think present price is a good price to buy and fill up their storage tank. Consumers will drive further and longer with cheaper fuel. 93mio barrel vs 2mio. The 2 mio supply glut can be easily digested. 70 to 75 is also sufficient to slow shale oil and deep water oil project drilling.

Just load back again. I have to be more realistic since apl logistic has moved to final round. Deal will be done in Jan or February. With the news expect it to drop back to 80 is unlikely.
All the best vested. |

Singapore port is relatively open and free to allow shipping business to trade freely with different form or price as a transshipment port. The customers are worldwide. China is more on exporting from china inland to global. So a freight index is able to disclose the present freight rate openly to prevent overcharge or other type of agreement. Singapore port just obtain commission though the container volume handling, china gov has to ensure a fair and cheap freight rate to protect their own interest since china business pay the freight rate for exporting.
This may explain why Singapore and Rotterdam port don't have similar freight index as a transshipment port.

Just a thought, the major cargo flow is out from China, so the Shanghai Freight Index. Singapore  is just  a TS port so theres no index for SG since no one uses SG as the base port. |

The news rescue NOL for going down to 80 tomorrow. Us is strict on country facilities ownership especially something like logistic. Highly likely the offer will go to 2 US firm to obtain gov approval easily.

KKR & Co is not even a logistic firm. It is a global investment firm. Wonder what's their valuation of APL Logistic.

First, I just can't understand why NOL doesn't find it their corporate responsibility to make some disclosure but we have to learn from newswire. Doesn't matter now. Learning to accept it. GIC announced in Sep that it is investing in XPO Logistic together with 2 Canadian Funds. Reuters reported CJ Korea expressed interest and indicated the likely price tag of $1b. This will be interesting final round of bidding with 'best price offer'.

SL @ 0.830 due to bearish trend. How long does it take for the share price to recover upon successful sale? Instant respond? Or still have to wait for their report? Lost quite lot in this one. Hope to get it back from here.

Dear Earlybird14, You use top companies name without knowing fully what had happened. ● You disregarded Alliance & misinterpreted Top 3 shipping no alliance. Which I replied Maersk Line is already in alliance with MSC. ● You failed to capture bunker (oil price) as major expenditure that oil price fall profits shipping operation when I mentioned & insist on your Shanghai Freight Index. ● The Shanghai freight Index to different ports varies, & you failed to mention as a transshipment port. ● You misrepresentated the Shanghai freight index as generation for all below $1000. But actual is within around $800 - $1700 to $2000 +, excluding shanghai to hongkong. ● You indicate seafreight become airfreight if oil price drop. Do you know it is not economical feasible to ship 20ft cntr from sea to air? ● You insist on 1 Shanghai Freight Index for all, with disregard to multiple ports destination. |
