70 to 80 based on current fuel oil bunker price. But most likely will load back after container freight index release on Friday. If break 900, I may hold on my plan. Because it will be the sign of players competing market share by giving in gain in low fuel oil price. It implies that The supply glut of new vessel may be exceeding supply glut of cride oil.
A strong distribution between 85 to 86 were confirmed based on these 2 day pull off. So, to load back below 80 is possible.

Your shipping knowledge is still very poor.
You thought 1 index is NOL- Dreaming only shanghai. ● Baltic Index- measures demand for different commodity (Worldwide Shipping) www.bethetop5percent.com/2012/589/divergence-between-nol-and-baltic-dry-index/ ● The Shanghai (Export) Containerised Freight Index (SCFI) NOL also use Shanghai as a transshipment port. www.ocbcresearch.com/Article.aspx?type=research&id=20120430092950_85504

Dear Both,
Do you know what is a freight rate & freight index? All Shipping Company will have different freight index for different port destination. It is reflected because Shanghai is one of its destination ports. You can call up NOL and ask for other country freight index.

Do you own due diligent and differentiate terminal and port. Whatever NOL has, Top players in the market also have. This doesn' t provide any competition advantage to NOL. Don' t because you support NOL, just post 1 sided story, be realistic and globalised and know why NOL is making loss and why APL is out of top 10 container shipping company. Anyway, i am still waiting for my entry target price, friday or monday, may be able to load again.

Hello, Pls wake up.
The link you paste is just Busiest Port Ranking- Singapore ranked #2 (still busiest port). NOL shipping is to terminals & destination ports worldwide, determined by customer port destination. NOL is Singapore Registered Company. 7/10 to China port is your false assumption, NOL have ports worldwide. Pls provide link on your 7/10 assumption. Do you know what is transshipment port and destination port? Cargoes are flowing to different parts of world everyday.

no trying to help or side anyone. But NOL itself quoted shanghai freight index in its report. You can refer to 20 Feb 2014 full year result presentation. It is at page 18. I myself also always refer to Shanghai index due to this.

NOL:
● APL High Technology Terminals: Our global portfolio of terminals includes owned and operated facilities. APL operates the following terminals on the U.S. West Coast: Los Angeles, Seattle, Oakland and Dutch Harbor. In Asia, APL has terminal facilities in Japan at Kobe and Yokohama, and at Kaohsiung, Taiwan. APL also has joint-venture interests in Laem Chabang, Thailand, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and Qingdao, China. All our terminals are equipped with an integrated, real-time computer software system for vessel, rail and gate operations to improve decision-making in terminal operations. New technologies, including Automated Equipment Identification (AEI) and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS), are constantly employed to enhance equipment management. www.nol.com.sg/wps/portal/nol/aboutus/ourbrands/apl/aplterminals ● NOL partnership with PSA NOL is well positioned in Singapore Port (world's busiest port by vessel arrival tonnage & world?s top bunkering hub) In 2011, sold 39.3 million bunkers. To sustain our hub port leadership, Singapore will continue to invest to grow capacity with the expansion of Pasir Panjang Terminal. We have also launched a new Port Operations Control Centre at Changi to enhance the safety of navigation as demand on our port and shipping lanes grow. These initiatives will ensure that the Port of Singapore can accommodate not just more ships but also the largest container ships which are coming on stream. www.nas.gov.sg/archivesonline/speeches/view-html?filename=20111220001.htm |

Dear Earlybird14,
My Remark: This is a freight index shipping out from Shanghai Port to Other Countries. Please get a Singapore Port to Other Countries. APL Terminals though have terminals worldwide but China port shipout is only a fraction of its shipping lanes. In relative to lower bunker cost (largest expenditure) will boost NOL profitability instead. * Please do not use your Primary 1 Shipping Knowledge to measure NOL based on a Shanghai freight index. Fyi: Every dollar drop in oil price equals a lot of profit margin to NOL shipping operations. Freight rate is priced to customers by shippers, Lower Oil price provides Lower freight rate but the profit margin is bigger as figure between expenditure and operating costs are minimized more.

Latest NOL Strategy (Edited Complete Ver)
Dear NOL Mgmt & All, These are 2 things I believe in NOL: Though Oil Price will be a major game changer in shipping turnaround. APL (Logistics) need work with buyer in alliance to expand its network & business by selling 40% as IPO (Listed in Strategy #2). APL (Shipping) need sell 20% & do merger with a bigger capacity shipping company. ● Oil Price @ $79 already lower a bit (25% lower) from previous rising oil price. Once hit $55 to $65, it will reverse back to Original Shipping Profitable Era. ● Trump Card (APL Logistics if issued as IPO for every NOL- combined value may be around $1.50) - * up to Management decision My Advise (Superior Strategy #2)- Revised Version in view of oil price drop: - Sell 20% of APL (Shipping) to manage undercapacity Liner Operation. This will improve liner revenue & having lesser scale of vessels & operating costs to maintain. Then, do merger with other bigger capacity shipping (E.g. Evergreen) A merger is essential to be on some fair ground & compete with Top 4 shipping companies. - Issue APL (Logistics) as IPO to retain overall control. Sell 40% of APL Logistics shares to buyer, retain 60%. Work with buyers to expand network & business. These need to be operated simultaneously to turn profitable |

http://www1.chineseshipping.com.cn/en/indices/scfi.jsp The collapsed in container freight rate last week may be a quick response to the low bunker fuel oil price. The critical support of index, 900 cannot be broken since it will give a doubt if the shipping line still can be profitable with low bunker fuel cost which imply the players already surrender the benefit of low fuel oil cost to their customer. Coming friday container freight rate can tell the situation. |

HPL is a very strong competitor in shipping industry.
● NOL can do with what it have in recent falling oil price for its operations to its advantage. (Singapore Flagship) I believe oil price will still be major concern for NOL. (Within its controllable boundary- to buy cheaper oil & hedge) ● This question is still far to consider- probably No. Will NOL merge with MOL which has relatively good relationship?

♥ A review on bad example of giving Primary 1 Shipping by Earlybird14: Quoted by Earlybird14: Not talking bad but talking fact. (Happily stated top 3 not in alliance) ● My Comments: The points I listed out- All shipping knowledge by Earlybird14 is wrong.
