you are wrong. It' s not selling on news. It' s in these past few weeks all stocks fell.(no stock was spared, all fell across the board) Eg Linc Energy shocking fell from $1.38 to 71 cts in a short few weeks period.(Now Linc rebounded from 71 cts to 97 cts today) Even top buys Pac Radiance also crashed in these past weeks.

what if NOL annouce they divests in this coming end Oct results and the share price huge gap up the following day then you bang balls. Remember during August when NOL annouce it' s divest intention(which was a weak bearish month for STI broad market during that time), NOL spiked up from 94 cts to $1.02 in just 2 short days in a weak STI period

It is important not only the performance of NOL for Q3 which will be released next fri, it is even more important the forward guidance of the mgmt.
THE supply of container shipping capacity decreased in September year on year as the rate of production slowed, said shipping analysts at DNB Markets in Oslo. Thursday, 23.Oct.2014, 19:28 (GMT) Global supply of box shipping capacity decreased in September THE supply of container shipping capacity decreased in September year on year as the rate of production slowed, said shipping analysts at DNB Markets in Oslo. Deliveries added 74,000 TEU to the total fleet, while demolitions removed 16,000 TEU from the market, leaving a net increase of 57,000 TEU, reported Denver-based IHS Maritime 360. On an annualised level, this implied deliveries running at 5.5 per cent of the existing fleet, while the figure for scrappings stood at 1.1 per cent. "We estimate that effective supply decreased with the equivalent of -187,000 TEU, resulting in an effective net change of -130,000 TEU or an annualised -8.7 per cent," said Nicolay Dyvik, Oyvin Berle and Petter Haugen, the analysts at DNB Markets. As far as the demand side is concerned, the UK's Container Trade Statistics (CTS) said last week that the total volume of seaborne container trade amounted to 11.72 million TEU in August, which was slightly lower than the 11.81 million figure for the previous month, but higher than the 11.09 million TEU in August 2013, said the report. |

I'm sure APL Logistics will fetch a very good price given that USA Logistic business is roaring as reflected below. APL has its own rail too.
Norfolk Southern Railway said it is working to correct service problems that accompanies faster-than-expected 10 percent growth in intermodal volume during the third quarter. this year resulted from a faster-, like other Class I railroads, didn?t expect this year?s surge in volume and was operating at crew and locomotive levels well below what was needed to keep the network operating smoothly, company officials said today. CEO Wick Moorman called this year ?something of an anomaly.? He told analysts the company was ?challenged by demand in excess of our forecast for the year.? Though service metrics again were well below average, the company reported its second straight quarter with $3 billion in revenue. Net income was $559 million, up 16 percent. Moorman said this year?s growth has included volumes from customers switching from trucking to intermodal rail, and rerouting of traffic to the East Coast to hedge against the possibility of a West Coast dockworker strike. For the first time, NS?s intermodal traffic exceeded one million units in a quarter. Intermodal revenue was a record $667 million, up 10 percent year-over-year. Norfolk Southern isn?t alone in service glitches. The U.S. Surface Transportation Board has required all Class I railways to submit comprehensive service metrics, beginning this week. The problems began in mid-2013, but heavy winter weather caused excessive backlogs that created further delays. Moorman said some service issues could continue into the spring of 2015. Norfolk Southern said the surge in volume caught the railroad short of locomotives and crew. Moorman said hiring and training new members takes between seven and nine months. Chief Financial Officer Marta Stewart said the company spent $10 million on overtime for its current employees during the third quarter. "You need a sufficient number of crews in order to handling your volume. And our volume just outpaced the crew,? Chief Operating Officer Mark Manion said. He said hiring has been stepped up and that new crews will begin work during the next two months. NS is also working on several infrastructure projects in Chicago that will ease fluidity, Manion said. The company will begin work in December to double capacity at its Bellevue, Ohio, terminal. This month the Englewood Flyover bridge project was completed to separate NS freight trains from tracks used by more than 70 commuter trains a day in Chicago. ?Customers should start to notice improvements in service and consistency during the fourth quarter,? Manion said. Seale said the rise in volume has helped the company rate intermodal rates in June and September. He said the company will continue to evaluate its pricing, and has about half of its business book to review in 2015. "We price to the market, and the market is tight for capacity," Seale said. "That enables us to have a more optimistic outlook on pricing ahead." Contact Corianne Egan at [email protected] and follow her on Twitter: @CEgan_JOC.

Not feasible to delay sales of APL Logistics. The divestment/unlocking of APL through IPO will provide: - Estimated 800millions - 1 billion (that can used to pay debts and improve on its operations) - Enable NOL to use outsourced 3PL Logistics On shareholders part, once APL Logistics is issued as IPO combined value will be higher.

Most of the intermodal freight and logistic service providers in USA with warehousing, railroad and trucks are reporting better than expected financial results. NOL may actually delay sales and try to get better offers from market ?
